"New York Post vs. Mary Keenan (new suit!)"
Posted by MrsBrady on 05:34:59 3/30/2001
From the AP this morning buried in a Ramsey vs. Thomas story...
"Meanwhile, the Boulder County district attorney has asked a federal
judge to stop the New York Post from seeing stacks of documents from
the Ramsey investigation.
"The newspaper is seeking all documents associated with the slaying,
including those from the grand jury which disbanded without indicting
anyone in the case.
"The district attorney's motion to block the Post's subpoenas was filed
Thursday (3-29) in federal court in Denver. It argued the subpoena places an
undue burden on the office since it includes tens of thousands of
documents in 24 categories, some of which are privileged
"The subpoena, issued March 15, orders the district attorney's office to
hand the documents over Monday."

not only is a jackass - she's a lazy jackass. If she would spend less
time vacationing and designing her office, she'd have more time at the
copy machine.
Just turn it over goofball, you're not doing anything else with it.

to get copies of the suit and MK's answer to the courts?
Surely she said more than it would create a hardship on her office to
copy and turn over records?

as the Ramseys' suit against ST. The NYT carries a lot of clout. I
wonder why they are so hot on getting their hands on those records,
aside from the fact that everyone would like to have them. I can hear
the shredders cranking up as I write - talk about hardship - all those
office workers putting in overtime, shredding all those incriminating
records. Go get 'em, NYT

The NYP had the scoop on her midnight bail arrangements with DH.
I hope the federal judge laughs that lame excuse for not turning
documents over right out of court.
Going through all those tens of thousands of documents might be just
what this case needs to breathe some life back into it.

maybe we can get them to try to get the as yet, never before released
to the public, search warrant that was issued on Dec 26,1996 for an
undisclosed property in Boulder County. The search warrant that was
protecting peoples whose names were not yet public and may still not
yet be public. But the public does have a right to know after all this
time.
Heck maybe if they release all the info WE can solve the crime. The DA
sure doesnt seem to be able to.
Does anyone have an email address where we can let them know about
this issue?

a silly excuse, anyways? Why didn't she just say there is an on-going
investigation and she can't release the documents because of that.
Something isn't making sense here. Has this ever been done before?
Are they going by Freedom of Information Act? What is going on here?
Holy Batman, if they can get these records, man oh man alive, what a
coup.

this is what I thought should have happened when the Rams sued the
tabs for Burke. How can anyone defend themselves without access to
records that are buried deep in Boulderdum? So, the Post is going after
those records as part of their defense, and they are, after all, entitled
to put on a vigorous defense.
Hot damn, the plot thickens. Things are going to get ugly, folks, and I
think they are going to get ugliest for the Rams. Psst, Lin Wood, your
pants are on fire.

Posted by sarah on 08:19:53 3/30/2001
Keenan's lame excuse is funny; but it is also very telling.
It shows us in no uncertain terms that the DAs are still about
protecting themselves and shielding the murderer(s), and to what
extent they are willing to go to do so.
She dare not use the excuse that the murder investigation is on-going,
because she knows she may well have to prove that statement in
court, and in doing so it will leave herself and her office wide open for
even more investigation.
She has to tread veer-ry softly now. She is in deep water, as
evidenced by her inability to provide anything but a lame and utterly
laughable excuse as to why she refused to turn over the documents
willingly.

story.
