"ACandyRose Subculture TimeLine is HERE" Posted by AuntieBJ on 06:03:04 5/02/2000 The ACandyRose Internet Subculture TimeLine is HERE !! This timeline is comprised of everything I have saved from the online forums over the last 3-1/2 years from those on the Internet who have followed the JonBenet Ramsey investigation. I might have gathered the information and laid it out but it is not my story. The online threads tell the story that no other could tell. This is a story of a community on the Internet of people who posted on the forums and gave some very interesting ideas and sleuthing to this case. This is a story of anger and frustration and enjoyment and death. This is a story of talent and imagination and preservation and determination. This is a story of how some posters came together and worked as a team while others started wars and hoaxes and the destruction of forums and people. I have always said that the ACandyRose Internet Subculture history site was comprised of the good, the bad and the ugly and I have tried to include just that. This story could not have been told without these online threads that were saved. Many of them were deleted over the years. This story could not have been told without the help of many others who send me missing and deleted threads and postings and graphics. The list is long of those I want to thank. It has been extremely interesting once one sees all the forums combined from reading the online threads and you realize what was happening here and what was happening there and how some were totally in the dark as to what was going on and others were right in the middle of everything. Even I was amazed :-) I am hoping many of the old timers will be able to send me more threads and stuff from '97 and early '98 so I can fill in those areas on the timeline. I thought that this might lay out the BIG PICTURE especially to those who were not here in the beginning and lack the understanding of all that transpired that created a lot of opinions and attitudes that got us all to where we are today. I still have much to add so enjoy and watch the timeline grow :-) BJ (aka ACandyRose@aol.com) http://www.acandyrose.com/timeline-transcripts1996.htm [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ EMAIL AuntieBJ ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. Self publishing is not all that hard. I published a cookbook, now in its third edition. I would be more than happy to offer help. Editing is the thing I love and do well. When (who was it) was going to publish "In Their Own Words", I really was excited about that. I do really hope that some here will publish their work. The story of the Internet connection is one of the most interesting and can stand on its own. I imagine their is an Internet Culture devoted to other interests. Chris has my address if anyone wants to get in touch with me. You have done a great service to the history of this tory. As has Ruthee. I think Mrs. Brady has potential for a book as well. Her pithy comments throughout would make interesting reading. Kudos to you all. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. Posted by chebrock on 12:00:46 5/02/2000 In reading posts from Feb 1 1997, someone named Batman is posting. He's not affiliated with the media but he is affiliated with the Justice system. Posted by chebrock on 12:33:59 5/02/2000 It is awsome to read these early forums. There is a post from Jerry Spence (and the way it reads, it sounds just like him). There is a confession from Batman who says he's really "Magic Man" but probably changed to Masked Man later on. Then there is Nancy Drew who reminds me of Mame. I questioned the original Batman handle as possibly being Steve Thomas and haven't read anything to the contrary. I'm having a BLAST! putting this all together. Please Please post more. Can I still get into these archives from the BNF page or anywhere else. It's awsome to see where people were going with this case early on. One thing that struck me from the early (2/97) Jameson posts is the fearful interest in whether or not there were arrests imminent. A poster fictiously posted that arrests were imminent in the Ramsey case. Jameson was coyly on top of it wondering what the source was and stating that she hadn't heard anything about it. That leads me to believe that the poster using the name of Jameson was not the Jameson of today. The 2/97 poster was someone who would have been affected by any arrests in the case. That poster was going to really research the validity of the possibility of arrests and do something. I could almost see the sweat drippin on the keyboard as they posted a "calm" but curious question. There were several such posts by Jameson. Virtually everyone who posted that arrests were immenent was questioned as to their source with a following statement that "he hadn't seen anything along that line". The final one was a poster who faked the Batman experience. I for one, never believed in Batman and felt they played a bunch of games, but such is only my opinion. I am still adding to the site and have much to add from the early files from the BNF as well as other forums. I know I should have included everything before I released it but wanted to start sharing it with everybody early. The timing just seemed right :-) And as soon as I have a much as I can on one particular year then I will be splitting up that year into months like 1999 is getting pretty big now and needs to be split so I will be doing that soon. I just have so many files that I have saved over the years and it was time to get them together and put them back where I got them, on the Internet where they came from to begin with. I hope you all are enjoying the history, those of you who are new to it and those of you who have been there. :-) [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ EMAIL AuntieBJ ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 20. You have helped us to "relive" it in a very special way. From the first "breaking" news, BNF, PLA, Curious' story (very cool by the way), Babe, Allipat, Panico and all the gatherings, this is truly a "family" history. I found the chat of Jams's coming out so neat, with ToppCat so shocked. And all the gatherings, the first mention of "Holly" was at the Lancaster Gathering, she is "morgan's" sister.
