"EVIDENCE 4: Pantry Door Open " Posted by Ginja on 14:31:13 5/05/2001 According to a police report, the butler door was found open by a Ramsey friend who arrived shortly after 6am. Very interesting, indeed! How many different cops did Fernie speak to about this? Does he change his stories as much as the Ramseys? And which "police" is reporting? BPD or Armistead? Perhaps DeMuth or Ainsworth? According to at least one other police report, Fernie went to the back of the house and looked through the windows, saw the note upside down on the floor, but couldn't get into the house. So he walked around the house and came in through the front door. When there was talk of looking for prints outside, Fernie piped up that it was possible any prints in the back were his as he couldn't get in and had to walk around to the front. Interesting, indeed! "Neighbor saw it" Posted by Anton on 20:31:58 5/05/2001 Didn't the next-door neighbor who saw the "weird" lights also report seeing that door open but not seeing anybody enter or leave? Also, that's the door nearest to the spiral stairs, isn't it? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "In" Posted by karen on 00:10:48 5/06/2001 the article it says there is a possible thumbprint on that door. There is a print, anyway. It does not reveal whose print it is. Lou Smit thinks it might have been the killer pushing open the door. It seems to me a thumbprint would be a "smoking gun" if it were an outsider. Fingerprint evidence is some of the best evidence the cops could ever hope to have. Is this thumbprint not accounted for? If it is then why is Smit trying to use it as a clue? How in the world can they not match a thumbprint? And why a thumbprint on a GLASS door of all things when the perp according to Smit wore light brown gloves all the rest of the time in the house? If this intruder were so careful as to wear gloves while commiting the crime why would he be so careless when entering or exiting through a glass door and leave a print? This makes no sense to me and I think Smit is trying to "make the evidence fit his version of the crime". Now, where have we heard THAT before? LOL Others in law enforcement have been accused of doing that and I see Smit doing that also with a lot of his evidence. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ]
