I would ask, if they are so convinced their daughter was killed by an intruder, why haven't they ever mentioned the amazing coincidence of how closely the killer was able to duplicate PR's handwriting AND their unique style of expression? Surely it must have occured to these INNOCENT parents that the killer has to be someone so close to them that he knows such intimate details about them. I would also like to ask all "TALK SHOW HOSTS" why they never confront the Rams with this impossible-to-answer-if-they-are-indeed-innocent question. "Get real, ladies" Posted by docg on 11:43:26 5/07/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 11:43:26, 5/07/2000 Those are powder puff questions. The printing on the note does NOT look anything like Patsy's hand. At least not to the average person (who is not already biased -- which rules out about 90% of those on this forum!). This is something only certain "experts" have "noticed," because they have looked for certain very specific things the average person wouldn't think to look for. Such as, e.g., the initial downstroke on the letter "m". As far as "unique style of expression," please, please. A lot of our posters out there thought DIWI was Lou Smit, for cryin' out loud. And every pro-Ram has at one time or another been accused of being Jameson. Even the ultimate "expert" on this aspect, Prof. D. Foster, has been badly burned. And direct confrontation won't cut it either. They're used to that. So forget about asking them "why they killed their daughter," or "how did it feel to look into her eyes." No answer is possible, so they have a perfect excuse not to provide one. No. The questioning of John and Patsy Ramsey is definitely an art. Barbara Walters looked pretty lame for the most part, but her question about taking polygraphs was a KILLER! THAT one question has made a huge difference. And recently someone asked them if they'd ever taken a poly before. Another direct hit! I think there are still probably a mess of excellent questions out there, crying to be asked. But let me give ANY future interviewer a HUGE tip. Before you proceed with the interview, ask two VERY important questions: 1. John, would you mind waiting in an anteroom where you can't see or hear anything while I ask Patsy some questions? 2. And Patsy, would you mind doing the same thing while I then ask John the SAME questions? Now what do you think the response would be? Hmmmm? Polygraph!!! We don't need your damn polygraph! Just GRILL the HELL out of these folks right out there in public the very next time they DARE to be interviewed. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "Lecarl" Posted by Ruthee on 11:31:34 5/07/2000 That's an easy one. There are many answers, none of which make sense. "Everything they touched turned to gold." Someone wanted JonBenet out of the way so "they" could inherit the fortune. John headed a "billion dollar company", someone studied the Ramsey family for years, maybe even lived in the house for a while, before he/she/it/they pulled this off. There weren't four people in the house that night, there were five. They invited an overnight guest that they forgot about. John would be happy to give his name, but he can't remember who was there. There was an attempt made on the life of everyone at the Christmas Party. Fleet White called 911, but Patsy was the real hero with; "Don't go there pal." Sometime during Christmas day the killer was checking out the house in prep for the murder, but ran when confronted by Patsy with a potato peeling knife. Lucky for Patsy, she just happened to be slicing fresh pineapple. No one saw his face. He was wearing a black sleeping mask. Sometime during Christmas Eve, the killer, dressed in a Santa Suit, went to the wine cellar to open his gifts. He thought he heard someone coming, took off the suit, and ran stark naked through the streets. There are clues.....many clues. He left his clothes and his gifts. If they were innocent and didn't have an effin' clue about what happened or how it happened or why it happened and they were all baffled and confused and trying to figure it out (just like all of you), then how would you expect them to answer these great questions? I'm not interested in hearing about how it's so obvious that they did it and all that. It's just a question. Slip inside that person's skin (to paraphrase Atticus Finch), and see what comes out. But, first you have to feel it from inside that skin, not from inside your own. It's a very hard thing to do. Just imagine this: Let's say one of the Rams was involved in this death and all the staging is done as was the case except that it is made very clear in the letter that kidnappers will call on the 27th between 8-10(rather than the 26th). So, they don't call the police nor the friends. Instead, on the 26th, early morning, they get in touch with the Michigan-bound children and say that something urgent has come up - they can't explain - but they can't go to Michigan. On the 26th Then JR gets 18,000.00 together just as he did, not explaining the reason to the banker. They take the body out of the house and go get rid of it. They then go pick up their money and go back home and wait until the kidnapper's call. The 27th comes and there's no call from the kidnappers so NOW they call the police and they tell the police that they followed the instructions of the kidnappers for fear their daughter would be killed but that there was no call and now they don't know what to do. That would have been a better plan, I think. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 21. "Orsen" Posted by Greenleaf on 19:02:59 5/07/2000 That was funny! Excellent question. For starters, I'd agree to take that polygraph test right off the bat. I'd be grateful for the opportunity to clear myself. If asked to be questioned apart from my wife, I'd have no trouble with that at all and, if my wife were also innocent, I can't imagine why she'd have a problem either. (Somehow I don't think you'd get that reaction from the Rams during a talk show interview. They'd want to know why they were being "grilled".) Above all, if I were innocent, *I* would be the one asking questions, hunting up leads, sending the police out to interview ANYONE suspicious. Talk about throwing people under the bus! I'd be throwing the whole city of Boulder under that bus. And if there were a neighbor who claimed she heard something that night, I'd be all over her with questions, rather than pretending all I knew about her was what I'd heard in media reports. Which is why the answers to those sorts of questions are not interesting. What's interesting are the trickier, more insidious type of questions, such as the brilliant: "have you ever taken a polygraph?" An innocent person would be candid about that. An innocent person would NOT hide behind some legalese nonsensical garbage! An innocent person would say: "yes we did take a polygraph as urged by our lawyers and we were found to be untruthful on some of the questions and this has bothered us, yes, because we ARE telling the truth. So for that reason we are now EAGER to take polgraphs from the FBI in order to clear this up. We certainly don't want our lawyers to think we're lying." Posted by pavement on 23:33:59 5/07/2000 The point that I am trying to make is that if they don't know what the heck happened it can be pretty hard to come up wiht answers that are going to satisfy anybody. And no one is satisfied with their answers. Their behaviour as such is better understood if you can slip into their skin. See it through their eyes (once again, assuming innocence; just for the sake of argument). People seem to have a hard time doing that, witness docg above. People are always saying, "if I was them I would...," but that's the wrong approach. It isn't what you would do in their place, it's what you would do if you were them. A distinction hard to make for some people. I find some of their behaviour odd, but, I don't interpret it as a sign of guilt. I think it has more to do with religious convictions (JonBenet is in a better place, they will be reunited; vengence is the lord's, not mine, etc.), lawyers and too many of them, paranoia, fear and a, not impossible to understand, belief that they are the only suspects being targeted. They are not being looked at to be cleared, they are being looked at to be convicted. I can't walk in their shoes, and I can't judge them either. "Pavement -" Posted by AutumnBorn on 00:26:08 5/08/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 00:26:08, 5/08/2000 but we judge people all the time. It's part of justice and it's required under the law. I agree that we can't judge their souls, but we can judge their behavior and actions. If we were to not judge people's actions, then it would undoubtedly take a confession to solve any crime. But there aren't usually confessions and DNA isn't always the "know all" of a crime - a man's sperm inside a woman's vagina does not mean a rape took place. Granted, it's a circumstantial case, but most cases are just that and people are convicted on circumstantial evidence all the time. The reason I didn't imagine myself as Patsy or John is that I can't. I can't imagine being someone who would NOT do the things I said above. I can only speculate on what I would have done in their shoes. The only point of reference I have with them is as the mother of a six year old girl. If she were murdered, I'd do whatever it took to get the investigation going on the right track - I'd answer any question under any circumstances. I'd do whatever I could to make sure another child wasn't murdered by the same person. Edited to clarify a point and add: Pavement, I was afraid that you'd gone away. I hadn't seen you posting for awhile, then today, here you are! Now a question for you? What was the first mistake the Rams, as innocent people, made? Posted by pavement on 09:36:29 5/08/2000 didn't know anybody missed me. haha We can and do judge people by their behaviour and actions. We do it from inside our own skin and our own experiences. I am simply saying that this is not the best way to do it. You can't imagine being someone who would NOT behave as you would in a similiar circumstance and I think that that is part of the problem here. I wonder how I would act sometimes. If I thought the police were interested in me as a formality, to clear my name so to speak - fine, but if it looked like something beyond that then I'm not sure what I would do. I do not trust the police, too many innocent people get harrassed, arrested, convicted, etc.; if I was wealthy I think the lawyers would have to handle it for me. And if i had lost all confidence in teh police to find my daughter's killer then I would have to turn elsewhere. And if the general population was against me - hmmm, I don't know how I would deal with that. I would probably rely on professionals for advise and hope that I had hired the right people. While acknowledging that I would have to submit to a certain degree of investigation, etc. if it became clear that no one was interested in finding the one responsible for my loved one's murder but that they would rather come after me, I think that I would become quite angry and paranoid. Where could I place my trust if the very people who are supposed to help me are after me. Anyway, enough of that. I am still here, only lurking mostly. Glad to know it's still referred to as Greality. Some things never change. One question for John: Why were you calling your pilot RIGHT AFTER you had found your daughter's body? Why were you planning to fly your family to Atlanta that very evening? What was the "important business" that you said you had to attend to? What could POSSIBLY be more important than the fact that your daughter had just been brutally murdered and was lying dead on the floor? Is this your idea of cooperating with the authorities? "I'd ask the Ramsey's" Posted by WitchyWoman on 09:16:15 5/08/2000 I've heard you state you had to follow the instructions of the ransom note (chapter) to the letter, but instead you did the following: 1. Dialed 911 instead of either the FBI or another # for the police that would not bring a dozen marked cars to the home. 2. Called friends to console you in 'your' time of need even though the ramsom note said if caught talking to a stray dog your child would be beheaded. 3. Called JonBenet's Dr. to give you a prescription instead of your Dr. This Dr. is the one that said JonBenet was not sexually abused. Do you not realize the mere fact you called him to come as both your friend and medicator makes anything he testifies to suspect? Your good friend obviously would lie to protect you. Do you really believe anyone would believe the following: 4. Didn't pick up the ransom note so you wouldn't leave finger prints on it, but you had no problem picking up your daughter, ripping tape off her mouth, hugging her dead body, putting a cover over her, etc. You are liars, but not very good ones because you can't keep your lies straight. 5. Wanted to leave your childs body to go to Atlanta the very night she was found? Then had the audacity to say the police held your child for ransom. Obviously you didn't care to find out who the murderer was because you of course already knew! 6. Made a production of the memorial service held in Denver. PR you are NOT anything like Jackie Kennedy and trying to imitate her when the she lost her husband, President of our Country, just makes you look the fool you obviously are. I just wish you two would admit what you have done so your little girl could have some peace in her death. You can pretend to be a Christian everyday for the rest of your life, that won't make it true. You sexualized your daughter, good Christians would not do that and it is my belief you are responsible for her death. Yes Patsy, God DOES KNOW WHO YOU ARE and if you don't receive justice here you will for all eternity. God forgives yes, but in order to be forgiven there are certain things we have to do to recieve His forgiveness. Think about that when you are indulging yourselves in "getting on with your life". "sorry, docg" Posted by lecarl on 09:27:54 5/08/2000 but as you know, by the time we actually got to see the ransom note we'd already seen plenty of copies of PR's writing. What surprised ME was that she hadn't seemed to try very hard to disguise her writing. I also wonder why some expert isn't willing to say ABSOLUTELY that she wrote it. The only thing I can think of is it must be something like hair & fiber, they can only say it "is consistent with," which actually means it matches. Now that I know more about the people, (PR, esp,) I can see that she didn't have enough time to do all she had to do that night--if she'd had enough time, she'd have made sure to disguise her writing even more than she did. Unfortunatly, she was limited by time, which is one more thing that tells me JR didn't know anything about it until later--how much later I haven't determined yet. "FW/PW" Posted by Starling on 06:55:08 5/09/2000 I know this is a thread for Ramsey questions, but I was just reading the Whites letter to university officials, regarding Mike Tracey's documentary. They thoroughly explain their platform well; what may or may not have started out as a documentary of unfair media coverage, escalated to a one sided free for all regarding John & Patsy's innoncence, and then a bombardment of character witnesses, the Stine connection with the same university was pointed out, as well as, the fact that Susan Stine told people that FW/PW should be considered suspects in the murder and they pointed out correctly that anything negative that the Ramsey's may have put forth was later ommitted from subsequent airings of said show, and finally they point out how this entire show was set in motion and aired before a Grand Jury could look at the case. They essentially prooved with their quotes Mike Tracey speaks out of both sides of his mouth. None of us are dumb enough to not realize what Tracey set out to do, even the little heads knew what was going down. But I'm curious as to why the Whites and the Ramsey's both did not jump all over MW's story. At the end of the Whites letter to the university they said: "Please be assured that we will not remain silent in this matter. We have enormous incentive to prevent Mr. Tracey or anyone else from improperly influencing the investigation of JonBenet's murder. We will certainly not tolerate people who unjustly impugn or defame our family." As far as the Whites go - a simple public statement stating something about any accusation leveled towards anyone in their family could have went a long way around here. As far as the Ramsey's go - you would think they would be all over this woman and her story beating down the door of the BPD demanding some answers which could have went a long way around here. Simply put, both families have failed "around here" in my eyes regarding her. And adding to the confusion is the obvious rift between the two families. John Ramsey is going around telling the world that Fleet White pushed them into the CNN interview - but Fleet White is writing letters that totally contradict John Ramsey: "There was no mention of the Ramsey's overt and media-savvy public relations maneuvers that included their appearance on CNN the day after JonBenet's funeral in Atlanta and also the use of memorial services at churches in Boulder and Atlanta as staged media events." I would like to see some real answers in this area. Starling [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 61. "Holly, read, study, and learn."
