"This is fascinating" Posted by Legalbeagle on 10:27:43 5/10/2000 Well, I turned on the Today show this morning and low and behold there's ole Lin Wood yammering about more Ramsey lawsuits. I was incredulous because every time the public focus shifts away from the ramseys, it is shifted back to the ramseys BY the ramseys. This got me to thinking about the Diane Downs case in Eugene, Oregon in the middle 1980s. Diane Downs was found guilty of shooting three of her own children on a country road late one night. One of her daughters died. Had she been able to keep away from the press, and stop talking, she most probably would have gotten away with it. Upon reflection her personality and PR's seem to be identical -- histrionic and narcissistic -- both of these women apparently are able to imitate human life perfectly and I believe that like Diane (who will never leave prison alive,) PR will publicize and/or talk herself into jail. Patricia Allanson, who will be featured on American Justice tonite, had a lot of the same defects, especially the need for constant attention to the point of self-destruction. I also thinks it is very interesting that the ramseys are now suing on behalf of Burke. Burke is now a teenager and, if his parents are even mildly successful, he will wind up being a very wealthy young man. Although I don't believe he killed his sister, this is beginning to look like hush money to me--something to "quiet" his conscience. And lastly, I had a chance to watch the Greta interview last week with ST, AH and Bt. ST truly is the humble carpenter imho, and as far as AH goes, I've seen a lot of sleaze, obfuscation and denial here in Chicago, but AH makes these guys look like pikers! Thanks all for letting me go on--I love this forum and try to keep up with everyone's posts [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ EMAIL Legalbeagle ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. This is something that I hadn't considered. Tell Burke that if he keeps his mouth shut, the money will roll in. . . . On the issue of Patsy talking herself into jail - I have to agree with that one. Lin Wood is the best thing that ever happened for the Boulder Police. Keep filing suits Lin and by the way - see if you can get your clients more TV time :) [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "I had never entertained" Posted by momo on 11:48:14 5/10/2000 the idea of paying Burke off with "hush money." Wow, great thinking. Burke will surely be bribed into keeping his mouth shut. I also think when all dies down Patsy will want to tell so bad she'll almost pee her pants. Lin Wood is going to be the big idiot then. If Burke does have that asperger's syndrome or whatever that mild autism is, obtaining money to take care of him seems like something I could see P and JR doing. On the other hand, I can see Patsy suing 'cause she likes having money and dislikes not having it. Yep, I also agree, I've never seen anyone WANT to get themselves found out quite like Patsy. When I was a little kid and I did something wrong and lied about it, but seemed to get away with it, I couldn't "leave it alone". You know what I mean, I had to keep recalling stuff about the circumstances with my parents. I called attention to myself and the situation over and over. Eventually, I was caught. And no small wonder. Sound familiar? Trust me, I'm no Patsy, however. She's way out of my league. First of all, I hate phonies. Enough said..
