"RE: Exiting (?) Posters" Posted by Nikitamonty on 08:04:56 5/19/2001 It was not very astute of those posters who have the belief that many have abandoned the JW Forum. I guess the thought never occurred to you "whiners", "sneerers", and out and out trouble makers that: a. there are posters like myself that have been here since the very beginning (even before Chris took over) that do not post but DO READ most of the information/opinions that are aired b. Chris has done and is doing a fabulous job with this forum c. And, the reason that a lot of old timers do not post is -- that not much new material has come forth... AND d. When one's opinion is presented, it brings on a firestorm of criticism from all of the "whiners/nasties/controllers" that want a fight or there day has not been "made". Chris, I love your forum...love you, too. Keep up the good work!!! Nikitamonty [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. "Why I don" Posted by MrsBrady on 08:15:29 5/19/2001 Why I don is supposed to be Why I don't duh.. Anyway the reasons why I don't post (much) is that (a) I tacitly (passively) agree with what I've read (b) I just don't care (c) I am afraid of being flamed (d) my fingers hurt (e) I have a hangover. Select one from above, all entrees include soup and eggroll. It's even harder now that we have this "schism". Oh yeah one more thing - it's proven that seals draw man-eating sharks. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "Separation" Posted by watchin' on 09:48:09 5/19/2001 There seems to be two (2) separate forums here. If a poster comments on "Beyons" they are not taken seriously on the main one because they are automatically judged to be in a 'blackballed group'. That makes an exchange of ideas more difficult. Read the description. Chris did a great job of categorizing topics for each, yet there continues to be irrelevant subject material on the main one which further gives the impression that there is a 'them and us' for each topic. Posters who feel 'afraid of being flamed' MUST take on a certain responsibility for what may not be a sweet response to they posts. EXAMPLE: " "Nah" Posted by MrsBrady on 18:30:35 5/15/2001 Seals just draw maneating sharks (see California), I say 'let em die'. ((burp))" MrsBrady, what exactly is the ((burp))? A poster asked for some information. I offered it because it was obvious to me that the question WAS IMPORTANT TO HIM/HER. YOU posted the above in the thread. YOU did not indicate you wanted to educate us or otherwise give you opinion and begin a dialogue or have a discussion. YOU gave your ((BURPING)) coment and then exited. YOU then posted the same post, word for word, on a thread in the main forum about the pigs. How do pigs draw man eating sharks?? My point is, that when posters make 'hit and run' statements and do nto hang around for discussion or debate, they should expect a cold reception because they have just slammed a conversation with no intent of joining in. IF a poster does not want to join a debate, a conversation, offer information or sek another POV, then WHY post the running ((burps))? If you ar so afraid of getting flamed, be a bit nicer and clarify your message and reason for posting it! [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 3. "Ha, it's a code" Posted by MrsBrady on 10:39:29 5/19/2001 I'm trying to communicate with a non-case-related entity outside the usual, the man-eating sharks bit is just to let him know when to be at the dead drop site, his dry-cleaning is ready. Posted by watchin' on 10:59:41 5/19/2001 I have done nothing to you that would warrant these snide remarks. I was honestly trying to understand how you could post these cryptic messages menat to insult other posters and then run and whine you are afraid of being 'flamed". Apparently you don't want communication and I dare not speculate what your agenda truly is. If I want to communicate with a non-case related person that dinner is on the table...I phone them or send email! Why so nasty? "..now watchin'" Posted by jonesy on 11:25:51 5/19/2001 ..everybody bitched for a second forum and now everybody bitches cause they have to 'click' on another forum - then we have posters who write books cause they think what they say is the 'law' and the 'facts' ...hahaha - if I wanted to read a book I would go to the library and if I wanted to read the same book over and over and over I would renew it - then we have the 'newbies'(hahaha) who have been lurking all their life who throw in a 'new'website that we have already cussed and discussed - then we have the 'sensitive' ones who wear their 'feelies' on their shirtsleeves who aren't even ready for the internet - then we have posters who obviously have oxygen depriavtion of the brain - I could go on but......... so the oldies look to see who started the thread, then who posted on the thread and then by the time you scroll thru that BS, there is nothing new to read, so why bother - \ ..your comments are most welcome..... You gotta leave our Ma alone, this is a woman who treks all over the country, goes on national TV, the internet, get ups at an unheard of hour every day, sitting in her skivvies, to give us something to read, AND wears blue nail polish to boot! She IS the QUEEN, do you hear me??? Besides she and I share a birth date (Have a Happy one, Ma.) O yeah if you really knew her, you would know the ((BURP)) is either because she just finished the seal sandwich, or she had a little too much vino, (you go Ma)! this post is in jest, my apologies to anyone who doesn't realize that and gets offended...geezz [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 12. "Newbies" Posted by pip on 12:39:59 5/20/2001 Nikatimonty posted, "And, the reason that a lot of old timers do not post is -- that not much new material has come forth..." Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Of course it's important for all available evidence to be seen through new eyes - every once in a while someone brings up a point that I haven't seen before - and every once in a while a point is brought up again that I feel bears a closer look (such as Sunshine raising the issue of the December phone records). The truth is, though, I have nothing new to add to the case. I arrived at the very end of j-7, hung out at BNF, and came to JW when Chris created it. Many here (you can't always "see" them) arrived on the fora much sooner than I did. To those of you who were NOT here from the early days, I believe it's you who have the ability to bring a new perspective to information that many of us have mulled over endlessly. You, the "new blood", are our best hope for a "EUREKA" revelation about this case. This community will endure, through real and manufactured crisis, as long as we see through the smoke and focus on what's important. Please don't judge the value of individuals on quantity of posts; some of us are lurking and waiting for you to find what we've missed. Keep sleuthing, you are our hope for justice. Sparky, you are so easily offended...no wonder you never show up when we come to gather you for the JW get togethers! hehe Let me tell you a "car discipline" story as remembered by my 30 year old middle daughter. Back in the old days cars had full seats in the front, and the baby's car seat would hang over the seat on hooks, well my # four child got to ride there for years (# five came on MUCH later) but the three oldest all rode in the back. I drove, seeing as how I was a single mom. Well, my daughter says when things would get unruly I would yell to the backseat culprit "lean over here so I can smack you" At that point she says they would all huddle in the far corner out of my reach thinking, "How dumb does she think we are?" Sometimes I would pull the car over and give all four of them a whack, just to make sure I got the right guilty one! Now of course I NEVER remember such a thing as I was always gentle and soft spoken!!!!! Thanks LurkerXIV, I can't believe it has been FOUR years. I remember emailing MA back then because I was lurking and afraid to post, she just encouraged me to jump right in. LurkerXIV, email me with the address of your grand-daughter's wedding pics will you? I'd love to see them. carry on... I got so fed up with my two fighting in the car that one day, I pulled over (granted about 3 long blocks from home) and said, "GET OUT!" I got the "But mommy," but I had had enough. I made them get out and told them to walk home. They were stunned needless to say. Of course, I immediately circled the block and hung back far enough I could keep an eye on them but they couldn't tell it was me. Didn't have anymore fighting for a long time and the next time I did I simply asked if they would like to walk home. They stopped immediately.
