      I am interested in feedback from forum members on why they think FW Sr
      chose MW's mother to be his godchild. 

      MW's mother lives in a trailer in a small town near Death Valley. The value of
      the trailer and the land is very low. Most forum members probably have cars
      valued higher.

      FW's family owns property in Boulder, Aspen and California. They are
      considered wealthy. While FW may work on the family's oil business from his
      home, he ostensibly is retired at the age of 50. 

      Why does a family of FW's status and wealth have a godchild in another
      income bracket altogether? I find it puzzling and the answers that come to
      mind don't make me feel any easier about this relationship.

      shorttimer - Perhaps the White's and MW's mother's family were closer
      together in status at 60 years ago? Or perhaps the group was not so
      bigotted as to let wealth stand in the way of friendship?
