"A poem for JonBenet" Posted by Jeanilou on 19:41:36 6/15/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 19:41:36, 6/15/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 19:38:19, 6/15/2000 I woke up this morning with a poem in my head and I had to set it to paper. It is unpolished as yet but I wanted to share it with you all. Here it is: WHY ME? And the day ends and I prepare to sleep, I pray for good dreams, ones I can keep. And I pray as I do at the end of each day, That there will be justice for JonBenet. I close my eyes, and let my mind drift, When I get this dream, a veriable gift. I see a vision of an angel on a cloud, Her eyes twinkle, her smile is so proud. I wonder just who this child might be, When she lifts a finger, and beckons to me. As I approach her, lo and behold I do see, This is none other than our Jonnie B. She gives me a smile I will never forget, And reaches for my hand, athough we just met. I look at a face that is pretty as pretty can be, No lipstick, no mascara, none of those things can I see. Her hair is natural, not full of fake curls, For once she looks like other small girls. She tugs at my hand and I can see she wants to play, I can't wait to see what she has planned for our day. The first thing she shows me is the company she keeps, Princess Diana, Mother Theresa, John Kennedy, all God's sheep. Then she shows me some rainbows, the stars and the moon, The angels playing on harps with a melodious tune. As we bounce from cloud to cloud that day, I realize how happy she is while we play. And all too soon, our time together must end, I hate to saying goodbye to my new little friend. Not once has she spoken at all that day, So I ask if there is anything she wants to say. The words she speaks are chilling as can be, She says four words, "Mommy, Daddy, why me?" Her eyes turn sad, and her smile disappears I want to somehow conquer her fears, But instead she turns, waves and starts to walk away, And I wonder if there will ever be justice for little JonBenet? "What a Special Gift" Posted by pisces on 17:51:29 6/15/2000 What a special gift you have to be able to express yourself so well. That poem is lovely but all of your posts show a special talent with words. They are so vivid and alive when you put them together. I wish you well with your writings. pisces [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 10. "Many Thanks..." Thank you for sharing it with us. I especially liked these two lines: "The words she speaks are chilling as can be, She say four words, 'Mommy, Daddy, why me?' " Why me, indeed! God bless all those who are attempting to seek justice for JonBenet, and all abused and murdered children everywhere.
