"West Coast Get Together" Posted by sabrina on 08:12:37 6/18/2000 Who would be interested in a West Coast Get- Together? Seems like the Easterners can all get together, what about us on the left coast? When and where would be best for eveyone? [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. Posted by Seashell on 11:36:01 6/18/2000 I thought there was going to be a Boulder Bash around JBR's b'day, so I'm planning on going there sometime this summer to visit old friends and dance. However, if the dates don't conflict, I may be able to make the WC thing as well. We could have it in Portland, which is about midway for folks in CA, WA and W. Canada (Q'er) I bet jonesy would like that, huh jonesy? Of course, I would too. Let's keep talking. It's a great idea way behind it's time. Posted by Paralegal on 12:11:59 6/18/2000 I'm here in AZ with a heavy trial schedule this summer, but could use a getaway to someplace way the hell cooler!! Northern CA, Boulder, I'm there as long as it's COOL... [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. "Cool is good" Posted by Seashell on 12:24:10 6/18/2000 There are lotsa rivers to swim in in Portland. OTOH, maybe we'd like to go to a smaller town. I personally don't like crowds or hustle bustle. Eugene, OR would be perfect - about the size of Boulder - great biking, swimming and it's Oregon cool and picturesque. Or we could really do it up brown and go to Victoria, Canada. Port Townsend, WA, right on the sound would also be good. And cool. As you can see, I'm not keen on CA. Too hot, too crowded, unless we go to a northern coast town and then it might be too expensive. What do you think of all the above ideas? Should we all list our preferences and then have a vote next week or so? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 7. "Limited" Posted by Paralegal on 12:45:48 6/18/2000 I'm limited in time to a weekend excursion, so Canada is too far away for me. Don't want to spend most of my time on a plane! Yes, I prefer a little out of the way town like Sausalito or Monterey, but $$ is a consideration for me too. My b-day is also the end of Aug. and would love to celebrate it with you guys. Will be my last before the dreaded 50 and old age sets in LOL! [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 8. "...San Francisco?" Posted by Dunvegan on 13:50:41 6/18/2000 ...here's my pitch my the town where I live: ...I live in The City, 4 blocks west of Union Square...I have one extra bedroom to offer... "jonesy" Posted by Seashell on 15:58:19 6/18/2000 >...thanx for thinkin' about me - we >could meet on the coast - >surely people would like that- only >hour and a half from portland" You're welcome! Great idea. You know the coast and I barely do. Where would you suggest? Seaside? Astoria? Canon Beach? I vote end of August too. Car rentals for 2 to 3 days at Enterprise cost only $25 or so last I heard. (if you have your own collision) They run weekend specials all the time for that great low rate and I think they'll have the car waiting at the airport. Who else is from the Portland area? I know we have someone out in the Gorge but now I can't remember who. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 11.
