"Interesting Post on Jams Forum" Posted by Andrea on 10:34:23 6/23/2000 There is an interesting post on Jameson's forum titled "Questions I would ask". Since I don't know what the policy is on copy posts over to JW, I didn't want to paste it here (even though jameson is always copying our posts on her forum). Anyway, the poster listed some basic questions that they would like to ask PR and JR. The questions are very good and very simple and if answered truthfully would provide good insight into what happened. Questions like: simply, "did PR pick up the ramson note or not?" There are about 11 questions total for which Jameson provides some very interesting answers. One question answered is: "When JBR's body was found, was her hair done in the same style that she was put to bed in the night before?" Jameson's answer is: Absolutely I have never heard an "absolute" answer from the R's on that. I know there has been a lot of discussion/speculation about this on JW. Theories such as PR was doing a midnight bleach job on her hair, etc. One question that is not asked but should be is: When JBR's body was found, were the clothes she had on the same as she was put to bed in the night before? I don't understand why the R's can't give a simple answer to that. I hope I didn't break protocol in starting a new thread (I know I'm still a relative newbie), but I thought some of your veteran posters should take a look at the answers Jameson gave to these questions and provide some thoughts on if there are inconsistencies between hir answers and the R's answers. Interested in hearing your thoughts. Andrea [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. "Chris..." Posted by shadow on 10:56:17 6/23/2000 Would it be improper for Andrea (or anyone) to post the questions and then Jam's answer here? Sounds interesting and would be helpful to those of us who never "visit" that forum. shadow [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "Andrea" Posted by hareen on 11:03:01 6/23/2000 Thanks for pointing this thread out. I agree that it's very interesting. So the Rams are saying she went to bed in the size 12 panties, huh? I'd like to hear the explanation for that. It's hard to imagine that they would say she had a diaper on earlier. [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 3. "Andrea & Hareen..." Posted by shadow on 11:12:53 6/23/2000 Did anyone ask why they called 911 instead of Lockheed Security and/or the FBI, and why they called friends over to the house while holding a note that told them their child would die if they told anyone? shadow [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 4. "size 12 undies" Posted by Edie Pratt on 11:16:04 6/23/2000 on when she went to bed? Really? That's very interesting, as I thought they first said she didn't. I wonder, was the dna in her undies the same dna as under her nails? Was it determined the dna was unidentifiable, or was it degraded? Call me suspicious, but my mind keeps wandering to the fact that the housekeeper didn't clean up after the party on the 23rd. I have "shower visions" of dirty glasses all over that house. Dirty glasses rimmed with dna. Forks, too. Hey, that house must have been a virtual petri dish with all those dirty glasses, silverware, cig butts, toilet seats, etc. Now, before you say to yourself, "self, that's crazy", don't forget one of these two was an armchair detective. One of them was reading JDouglas' "MindHunter", and reading it recently, too. Hence, Mr.Douglas was called immediately to take the heat off JR. Hmmmm, see what I see? [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 5. "Edie" Posted by Nandee on 11:18:28 6/23/2000 The DNA under her nails brings up a question. I read here on JW that JB had not been bathed for 3 days. I wonder where this information came from and if it has been confirmed. I will assume it was not in DOI!! :) [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. "Copying posts:" Posted by Jeanilou on 11:36:28 6/23/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 11:36:28, 6/23/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 11:27:37, 6/23/2000 I am totally against copying complete posts from one forum and transferring them to another. I firmly believe that violates copyright issues. I have posed the question to some legal people on line and they agree with me. I have also spoken to some authorities on the same issue, and they also concur. From all my research I have done on this issue, it is a copyright violation to take a post and copy it and repost in another forum. Where I have called it an opinion piece in the past, the lastest email I have from an attorney calls it "the intellectual property of others". And as you can see from the information I got from the US Copyright page, that is illegal, and you can be prosecuted for it. This is an excerpt from email I sent to Jameson over the copyright issue. What does copyright protect? Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed. (What I expressed are my opinions in written form, not ideas.) When is my work protected? Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form so that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device. (The minute I posted what I thought in written form it was copyrighted to me by law. And you cannot repost without my permission and I deny permission to you. Plain and simple.) Who is an author? Under the copyright law, the creator of the original expression in a work is its author. The author is also the owner of copyright unless there is a written agreement by which the author assigns the copyright to another person or entity, such as a publisher. (What I wrote was an original expression or more precisely, my opinion in written form. I am the author of that opinion as it is in it written form, and thereby I retain rights to it.) Do I have to use my real name on the form? Can I use a stage name or a pen name? There is no legal requirement that the author be identified by his or her real name. What is publication? Publication has a technical meaning in copyright law. According to the statute, "Publication is the distribution of copies or phonorecords of a work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending. The offering to distribute copies or phonorecords to a group of persons for purposes of further distribution, public performance, or public display constitutes publication. A public performance or display of a work does not of itself constitute publication." Generally, publication occurs on the date on which copies of the work are first made available to the public. Does my work have to be published to be protected? Publication is not necessary for copyright protection. What is a copyright notice? How do I put a copyright notice on my work? A copyright notice is an identifier placed on copies of the work to inform the world of copyright ownership. While use of a copyright notice was once required as a condition of copyright protection, it is now optional. Use of the notice is the responsibility of the copyright owner and does not require advance permission from, or registration with, the Copyright Office. Somebody infringed my copyright. What can I do? A party may seek to protect his or her copyrights against unauthorized use by filing a civil lawsuit in Federal district court. If you believe that your copyright has been infringed, consult an attorney. In cases of willful infringement for profit, the U.S. Attorney may initiate a criminal investigation. NOW, you can quote provided you use quotation marks, and give the author credit, but you cannot copy the whole post. I would simply link to her page. Or you can say something like this, "I saw an interesting question on another forum and it got me thinking, Was JonBenet found in the same clothes she was put to bed in? That would be acceptable, in my own opinion. Sorry, gang, but Andrea and Shadow touch on one of my favorite subjects. LOL! "Re: Copying posts" Posted by Policedog on 11:30:10 6/23/2000 Generally, we don't copy posts to here from other forums. It's just not good policy all the way around. Paraphrasing things that are said, particularly information worth discussing, isn't a problem. I hope this helps clarify the issue a little bit, but whenever something like this is in question, it's best to email Chris before jumping into it. Humbly, Doggie [ TOP ] [ MAIN ]
