"Patsy's Reunion News" Posted by Dunvegan on 10:54:38 7/07/2000 From: The West Virginia News, Friday, July 07, 2000. http://www.wvanews.com/7-7/WVRamseysReunionM0005.html Patsy Ramsey plans to attend 25th class reunion party PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- John and Patsy Ramsey plan a low-key visit to West Virginia for a 25-year high school reunion party Saturday. Patsy Ramsey is a member of the Parkersburg High School Class of 1975. Police have said the Ramseys remain under suspicion in the death of their 6-year-old daughter, JonBenet, who was found beaten and strangled in the basement of their Boulder, Colo., home on Dec. 26, 1996. The Ramseys now live in Atlanta. The couple plans to attend a private party from 1 to 3 p.m. at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. It wasn't immediately known whether they planned to attend other reunion festivities. An invitation to the private party states that guests will be barred from bringing cameras and asking the Ramseys about their daughter's death. The couple does plan to sign copies of their book, "The Death of Innocence," for reunion guests. In the book, the Ramseys theorize JonBenet was killed by an intruder. In May, the couple's attorney would not allow police to interrogate the Ramseys in separate interviews. Both sides have also disagreed over a lie-detector test. Posted by 1000Sparks on 11:06:29 7/07/2000 Bet all the classmates really like being told not to ask them anything or to bring cameras. Usually when someone loses a child, you do offer your sympathy and ask questions... how are you doing? etc. Again, why do the Ramseys have to make up the rules for everything they do? Why don't they just stay home and let the others have fun. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. Posted by Nandee on 11:22:33 7/07/2000 No cameras and no questions, but a chance to get an autographed copy of their book!! A once in a lifetime opportunity!! "scaredy cats" Posted by pinker on 11:23:27 7/07/2000 Not only are they afraid to answer questions posed by the cops but those by old aquaintences and virtual strangers too! Wish some unattached guests would invite a Boulder or federal authority type figure who would ask the right questions. They can't impose any punishment for taking a picture or asking a question. I assume Patsy crushed lots of toes on her way to the top and now could be pay back time. Wouldn't it be good if some classmates showed up wanting PMPT autographed. "high school reunions" Posted by Greenleaf on 11:25:58 7/07/2000 I have been to two of my high school reunions, and I cannot imagine being there without a camera. The greatest fun, after the reunion, was looking at, and sharing, pictures. Our class took hundreds of photos. I would be mad as hell if someone told me I couldn't bring a camera to my reunion. Could it be that the rams just told the class NOT TO TAKE PICTURES OF THEM? That would be understandable, but NOT TO BRING CAMERAS ALTOGETHER? Now, even for the rams, that is hard to believe. My God! They are such pests! Why in this world would them want to go to a class reunion, with all this mess going on in their lives now? Geeze! Don't ask any questions about the subject of the book we're signing here today. I hope someone shows up with a copy of DOI that has the price sticker that says 75% OFF. I also hope they get salmonella from all those mayonaise salads they eat at these church functions:-) And, may JR drop dead from boredom! Posted by zane on 11:41:15 7/07/2000 In the announcement it states that it's a private party and unsure whether the Ramseys will be attending any other reunion functions. Seems to me since the party is being held during the day in the basement of a church that it's not the big reunion bash. Reunion parties are usually at a restaurant or hotel and held in the evening. Probably only a few people were invited and not the entire class. Hope few attend, and the few that do bring hidden cameras and snap away... then sell those pics to the tabloids.
