 Dunvegan and I have discussed some of the forum transfer particulars and want to use this
 thread to discuss our plans with you. 
 Domain name - The justicewatch.com domain and all of its pieces and parts will be under
 Dunvegan's care. We are a little at the mercy of Network Solutions to actually change the
 ownership of the domain name but as far as we are concerned, everything will transfer to
 Dunvegan on August 1st. 

 Security - If there is anyone who is concerned about their private information (name, email
 address) being transferred, let me know before August 1st so that we can make sure you are
 comfortable with the arrangements. You can email me at cwheeler42@voyager.net to discuss
 this. 

 I'll give the floor to Dunvegan at this point to let you know what her plans are. Please feel free to
 use this thread for any questions you have about the transfer/future after you have a chance to
 read what she has to say.

 1. "A Short Message to the Constituancy of Justice Watch"

 I will be traveling back to Michigan the first week of August. During that time, I will meet with
 Chris Wheeler. Chris and I are working through the procedures required to transfer ownership to
 me of Justice Watch. There are, as you may surmise, many details and technical minutiae. 
 July 31st, 2001 will be the last day of Chris' long and distinguished leadership. I personally want
 to express my gratitude to Chris for the many hours of dedication she has selflessly given this
 forum. 

 Midnight, July 31st, 2001, Justice Watch will shut down for re-configuration and maintenance. 

 I hope that all of you will consider using this time wisely, as I will will endevour to do, to consider
 the history and the future of Justice Watch. 

 Justice Watch will re-open on August 6th, 2001. 

 On that day, had she lived, JonBenet Ramsey would have celebrated her eleventh birthday.

 Dawn: Yes. When the forum re-opens, you can register with a user name/hat with lower-case
 letters. 
 Ned: A good question. 

 I work as a Information Security professional, and (among other things) our "code of ethics"
 requires we preserve privacy. I am not only ethically pledged to perserve privacy, I am trained
 and practiced in the operational and technical requirements to effectivly protect member privacy.

 I will exert my best efforts in perserving and defending the individual privacy of each and every
 member of this forum. 

 On August 6th, when Justice Watch re-opens, there will be a "Privacy Policy" page available on
 the fourm for you to reference. 

 If you have any specific concerns, please ask now online, or write to me or Chris so that we can
 answer your questions in full prior to the forum re-opening. 

 Florida: In all probability, administrative controls, techincal re-configurations, and general will
 require re-registration. 

 However, I will be putting authentication requirements in place so that usernames/hats cannot be
 "hijacked" during re-registration. 

 Re-registration will be a simple process, yet secure. 

 It can also be a time for a fresh start."
