"Let's all back-up" Posted by Seeker on 14:22:34 7/19/2000 and remember something. We are all from different backrounds, had different upbringings and different experiences. Right? Right. Although many of us see things from the same point of view, that doesn't necessarily mean anyone is definitively right, or wrong. Just have differing opinions. We are ALL here to do one thing, SEEK JUSTICE FOR A LITTLE GIRL WHO WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED. What some of us have heard about Fleet White, MW, A. Hunter, or anyone else does not make it so. They may be liars, they may be theives, they may be totally honest. NONE of us really know them, personally. You can "Think" you know someone, only to be proved wrong, time and time again. I guess what I'm trying to say is, "Let's agree to disagree, but not attack each other in the process". Let's not be victims of the "divide and concor" technique that has been (apparently) deliberatley generated by some (possible Jams) posters. Let's keep helping each other. If you know something, or something was discussed, but cannot say what, then DON'T post anything about it. That will alleviate this curiosity we are all born with and keep the argueing amongst us to a minimum. Can we all do that? Be adults with different viewpoints, ideas, experiences, and opinions without biting each other's heads off in the process (I turned in my Vampire Club Card years ago). I'm not saying anyone is wrong for their beliefs and expressed opinions and I don't want to get into a screaming match with anyone (I'm like Rex from Toy Story, "I don't like confrontations" today, could be different tomorrow depending on my hormone level though.). I like almost everyone who posts here and I'd like to keep it that way... Consider this a challenge if you like. I challenge us all to PULL TOGETHER. Anyone up for it? I realize that we are a big group of people and together, we can do anything really. We can move mountains (please excuse the cliche). We really can make a difference. Who's game? I'm relatively new to the forum, but I'd hate to see all of its energy drained by squabbling. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 3. "huh? Seeker?" Posted by Gemini on 15:08:32 7/19/2000 Don't these two comments seem contradictory to you, Seeker? Although many of us see things from the same point of view, that doesn't necessarily mean anyone is definitively right, or wrong. Just have differing opinions. then Let's not be victims of the "divide and concor" technique that has been (apparently) deliberatley generated by some (possible Jams) posters. 'cause y'know, to me, it sounds a lot like the second quote is accusatory toward those with different opinions than yours. Who, exactly, are you suggesting is deliberately trying to generate problems? I don't see any one poster doing that, tho, as you know, I can be pretty suspicious (as with someone starting a 'flame out' thread to encourage a gang bash of a poster, eh?). I'm a wait & see gal about the current point of difference, but am pretty skeptical of all the attempts to stifle discussion that doesn't revolve around the two most popular case theories. Suggesting that just the alternative ideas and discussion are causing all the trouble does not wash with me. Frankly, I get the impression this (the current disagreement) is mostly about power and influence among forum factions with a little individual ego tossed in for good measure. And, while all that stuff is typical with group dynamics, I, personally, find it tiresome and pointless. If some don't like a particular discussion, I see no one with a gun to your heads, forcing you to participate. Pass up those threads. I admit that I sometimes mess up and don't stick to that plan, but I'll tell you something ... I always end up regretting it. Just give it some thought. No one small forum faction should have the power to control discussion topics. That's up to Chris and her staff. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 4. "Gemini " Posted by Seeker on 15:34:22 7/19/2000 I think you misunderstand my meaning. I'm trying to say that it seems that some posters (I'm not familiar with all the "hats" these days) are deliberately trying to generate conflicts between those that have always been able to respect each others points of view, but didn't vilify each other in the process. It was usually "I believe this", and someone saying "well, I think the opposite but it's OK, you believe what you want". Not this, "you are all so stupid, because I KNOW" etc, etc, etc. You know what I mean? Deliberate attacks against one another's character, ideas, trying to 1-up each other. "I'm a wait & see gal about the current point of difference, but am pretty skeptical of all the attempts to stifle discussion that doesn't revolve around the two most popular case theories." I have no preference on theories either, just trying to share info and thoughts. I'm just tired of the bickering today. Like your "hat", somedays I have a good day, somedays I have a bad (nasty thoughts) day. "Frankly, I get the impression this (the current disagreement) is mostly about power and influence among forum factions with a little individual ego tossed in for good measure. And, while all that stuff is typical with group dynamics, I, personally, find it tiresome and pointless." I agree. "No one small forum faction should have the power to control discussion topics. That's up to Chris and her staff." I'm not trying to contol anyone's discussion topics, just asking that we respect each other a little more. I disagree with "censorship" in any form whether someone likes something or not. I eaqually dislike it when people are "over sensitive" because it suits their purpose. I like your "small forum faction", very appropriate and quite cute! Can I use that saying? Have a good day kiddo! [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 5. It's usually a waste of time to try to tell other people how to think, but the suggestions you express here are cool with me. Well, my view is that you can't change human nature, much. So let's hope something happens out there in the real world, before we dis ourselves to death. I get so depressed with the things taken out of context and twisting of the facts and evidence that I'm tempted to leave the forum all together. Gotta get this pile minimized!
