"As promised" Posted by Sylvia on 11:35:51 7/26/2000 I have promised some people here to let them know when I finished my story on Smit. Well here is the link: http://www.lepassagenouveau.com/jonbenet/hero_smit.htm [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. "Nice Page Sylvia..." Posted by Voyager on 11:56:30 7/26/2000 You put together lots of good thoughts and information with which I agree wholeheartedly. I have done a number of rants against Smit in the past, and I continue to believe that he has been one of the single most damaging individuals to the case surrounding JonBenet's Murder. I believe that he sold out to the Ramseys to get his name recognition level before the public in a big way, in hopes of selling a product....so here it finally comes (and he can still say he did not cash in with a book!). I hope when his computer "package" is completed, that it will reside on the store shelves under "Comedy Selections"....Mr. Smit has seen his day IMHO.... Yes, I do put in a lot of thoughts, I am carefull with what I say, I only say things I can prove. What this guy has done, destroyed what ever what was left of the case, for a detective rather unethical as I already stated. I agree with you on that totally. >I believe that he sold out to >the Ramseys to get his name >recognition level before the public in >a big way, in hopes of >selling a product....so here it finally >comes (and he can still say >he did not cash in with >a book!). I do hope so and hope to have contributed a little to that. To me this guy is worthless. As a detective he should have backed off totally if he didn't agree. That would have been professional. What he did is beyond belief, stating someone is innocent because of their religion, ridiculous. I would like to thank you for your kind words. I try to work hard on it and will continue to do so. I'm so glad you put that info out there. I have to admit, when I first found out this info about Smit's "software thing," I thought it was a pretty bid deal. When it was posted on Websleuths and here, you and a very few others were the only ones who seemed the least bit interested. The Ramseys use this guy as their protective forcefield. Everytime they sneer the phrases "to the eye of a trained detective" (aimed at Steve Thomas and holding up Lou Smit as the "trained detective"), and "our investigators, who have worked hundreds of homicide investigations" (meaning Lou Smit), they are trying to gain credibility for their innocence. I think it's important to know that their main investigative supporter is looking for a software deal, according to his own statement. Your assessment of Smit's use of his inside knowledge of the case is right on target. The Ramseys, Hunter, Smit, and a number of posters can't line up fast enought to slam Thomas for writing his book, usually claiming he used inside information and that was unethical. No one seems to notice Smit not only does the same thing, but, as you point out so well, he's giving it to the prime suspects. Which, of course, Hunter's office has done from the start. Evidence of this? John Ramsey stated on his March LKL interview that their defense lawyers were ready to go to trial the day the "no indictment" statement was made by Hunter. They said it would have been a "blood bath." (Amazing choice of words, don't you think?) How could they be ready to go to trial if they never even had the discovery process to get the DA's evidence against them, which they don't get until they are charged and their lawyers file the motions in court for discovery of evidence. Answer: Thomas's allegations are true. Hunter gave away the farm from the beginning. So thanks again for getting this info out there. It may not be new to many, but it was news to me, and I think it's an important part of the puzzle. This whole case seems to be a puzzle of who's getting what, for what, and from whom. I keep seeing this picture on a website of JonBenet being crowned at a pageant. She looks like a sweet little girl, trusting, happy, having fun. The picture beside it is of her grave. That pierced my heart when I first saw it. So innocent, so vulnerable. So dead. WHY IS JONBENT DEAD, DAMMIT! IN A WORLD FULL OF MONEY AND POWER AND PRESTIGE AND PRIVILEDGE HOW DID SHE GET SO LOST SHE ENDED UP IN A COLD GRAVE? WHY HAVE ALL THE FORCES IN THAT WORLD LEFT HER BEHIND IN THEIR SCRAMBLE TO SAVE THEIR BUTTS AND USE HER DEATH FOR THEIR OWN GAIN? IS EVERYBODY THERE UTTERLY CORRUPT? MY VOTE FOR THE T-SHIRT LOGO: IS THIS THE BEST COLORADO CAN DO FOR A SIX YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL? (Picture of a headstone with "JUSTICE FOR JONBENET ON IT.") (Phew! Sorry about all the yelling. I've had a tense day. Now I feel better.) [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. "MJenn, no problem" Posted by Sylvia on 02:02:45 7/28/2000 Just yell what ever you want, can understand it very well, feel the same. Though it was about time that he got his share!!! About the software that is open for his own interpertation of what I wrote!!! And don't worry Hunter also deserves a nice place next to Smit, just need some time. Posted by MJenn on 19:49:26 7/29/2000 Just cruising around and found this--for those of you who don't know: on Jameson's website (link on Ken Polzin's web sites page under JonBenet Forum) she has posted a copy/transcript of Lou Smit's contract with the D.A.'s office way back when. Here's the part I thought was interesting: EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, made as of this 17th day of March, 1997, by and between Andrew Louis Smit, (hereinafter "Smit"), and Alexander M. Hunter, the Boulder County District Attorney, whose legal address is P.O.Box 471, Boulder, Co 80306, (herinafter the "District Attorney?). Blah, Blah, Blah.... 8. Nondisclosure of information. Smit agrees that he will not, either during the Term of this Agreement or at any time thereafter, disclose to anyone (except to the extent authorized in writing by the District Attorney) any confidential or proprietary information concerning the business or affairs of the District Attorney and/or the County of Boulder or the Ramsey homicide investigation and/or prosecution which he may have acquired in the course of or as incident to his employment or prior dealing with the District Attorney and/or the County of Boulder. Now, how can he abide by this agreement when he works for the Ramseys? Unless Hunter gave him a waiver in writing, in which case, why isn't Hunter's butt in a sling? I swear, and I repeat, IS THE WHOLE STATE OF COLORADO SO CORRUPT THAT EVEN THE PEOPLE DON'T CARE THAT THE SENIOR INVESTIGATIVE DETECTIVE HIRED BY THE D.A.'S OFFICE FOR $5,000/MO. WENT TO WORK FOR THE PRIME SUSPECTS AFTER HE RESIGNED FROM THE CASE? EITHER BREAKING THE TERMS OF HIS CONTRACT WITH THE PEOPLE OF BOULDER, OR WITH THE D.A.'S PERMISSION, EITHER OF WHICH SHOULD BE OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, OR BREECH OF CONTRACT, OR SOMETHING ILLEGAL. JESUS! CALL THE NATIONAL GUARD! WE'VE GOT A WHOLE STATE FULL OF POLITICIANS INVOLVED IN A CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE PEOPLE OF COLORADO AND OBSTRUCT JUSTICE IN THE MURDER OF JONBENET RAMSEY! Oh, yeah, I forgot. Nobody cares. Silly me. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 8. "MJenn" Posted by Sylvia on 02:59:41 7/30/2000 Wow, that is something. You know I thought there was indeed some sort of contract, however I was not able to find it. Great, you hit the right button!! Well maybe some other do not care, but I do!!!!
