Today while Madison was playing in the neighborhood, my neighbor's six year old child accidently shocked her with a stun gun that his father keeps in the bedroom. His mother is a physician who is on leave from having a new baby. The mother locks this child out of her bedroom in the mornings but he had gotten ahold of it without her knowledge, things happen. He put it in his toy bag and she did not notice it. She called me immediately when Madison was shocked. Madison did not yell in pain or anything, she just fell down and was kind of woozy for about ten minutes. During the entire time, my neighbor (who worked as an ER Pediatrician for the past 15 years) watched her vitals. At no time did she seem to be in the slightest bit of danger. In my opinion it was safer to keep her in the presence of a qualified physician than to take her out of that doctor's care and put her in a car and then drive to the emergency room and wait around in the waiting room. It made more sense to simply let her remain in qualified hands. The marks are near her waistline in the back. I took a photo of them with her vid cam while we waited for her pediatrician to get here (he was off and he lives a few blocks away). I did not take "nude" photos of her but one showing part of her back from the waste up. If you would like to see them to judge for yourself whether or not they are in anyway indecent please go see them at http://www.angelcities.com/members/dilela/new/mark1.html I had 2 main reasons for posting them. 1) though the prongs on the stun gun were round, it is clear from the photo that one of the marks was indeed rectangular and 2) in hopes that other parents would be put on notice and maybe ask before they let their kids go off and play if something like that is in the home. My neighbors are responsible, educated people. They keep a non- lethal weapon in the home for protection and to prevent harm to their own children. Madison was not harmed and indicated that she was not hurt. I asked her if it hurt when he did it, she said she didn't remember that it did. I assume she does not remember as it will disorient you for a few minutes. Anyway, in response to this, a poster called Sparrow decided to do a bit more than imply that I am an uncaring, bad mother because I did not grab her up and run to the emergency room. I think that would have been incredibly stupid to take her away from a physician's care only to go wait in a waiting room filling out forms. Anyone who has been to an emergency room should have sense enough to understand that. My neighbor is an ER physician who keeps a cart of emergency supplies on hand at all times. Madison was not in danger at any time. I believe I made the correct choice in keeping her comfortable and permitting a qualified physician to constantly monitor her until she was herself again. Anyway, the Jameson forum is a wonderful forum but I am not going to be posting there in the future. Jameson had nothing to do with this and as far as I know doesn't even know about it. It just grieves me to no end to think that people do not understand that no one takes the duties of motherhood so lightly and no one should be accused or have it even implied that they have put their own child in danger. I removed all the posts and the url from the forum and immediately, Sparrow lied and said I edited the posts to make it sound like I had done nothing wrong. I hadn't done anything wrong. I edited posts to correct spelling errors and to add information which my neighbor asked me to add (she was reading over my shoulder and was very mad that her qualifications to care for my child were questioned by someone who doesn't even know her). Perhaps had I though about it further, I would not have posted the url. But I think it was important to show that such things can happen when you would never expect it and to show the very odd mark which was not round even though the stun gun had round prongs. The marks on JonBenet's body are rectangular which has been the topic of much discussion on the forum. I had hoped to get some feed back concerning this phenomenon but what I got was slammed by Sparrow which has always been Sparrows habit anyway, to slam, to follow my posts around and to make little slurs. I don't need that. I would rather try to live in peace. God bless and thanks for listening. Dixie
