"E-Mail Activism" Posted by Dunvegan on 18:42:32 8/06/2001 I am currently researching and collecting verifiable e-mail and snail mail addresses for relevant governmental and oversight agencies that Justice Watch members might wish to query regarding the status of the JonBenet Ramsey case, or the status of other unsolved cases (e.g., the Chandra Levy case.) The automated e-mail feature will be accessible, via a link from Justice Watch, sometime this weekend. I am hoping this type of automated e-mail page will be a useful resource for members that have an interest in sending an e-mail (or a letter) to a particular official or organization. You will have the choice of sending an available generic form letter, or filling in a text field with a personal message stating your concerns. You may also choose to send the e-mail to the relevant party using your name and e-mail address, or you may choose to send your message via an anonymous re-mailer to protect your privacy. There will also be snail mail information for the relevant organizations and individuals. Only known public addresses of agencies and officials will be sourced. I will look forward to seeing what you put together. Maybe we can have a positive effect on getting justice for JBR. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. "Dunvegan" Posted by Tricia on 19:54:55 8/06/2001 What a great idea! Let's face it. How many times have we all said "I'm gonna write a letter" and then never do. This way we can all mobilize and make a difference. Thanks Dunvegan Tricia [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 3. "Dun" Posted by JR on 19:57:46 8/06/2001 Fantastic idea! Do you plan to do anything other than "automate" us over the next year - LOL! Thank you. Posted by Dunvegan on 23:05:40 8/06/2001 ..."automization"...because I'm awfully lazy. As a matter of fact, I'm working on the "Justice Watch Acme Household Robot" now...all you'll have to do is login to Justice Watch, push the button and it'll make you breakfast, wax your car, vacuum your carpets, and groom your pets. I'm still working out the bugs, though. As the robot stands today it waxes your carpets, vacuums your pets, and combs your hair with buttered toast.... Just what will the cost be for one? I definitely need a wife, but this is a good replacement. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 5. Posted by Dunvegan on 23:21:46 8/06/2001 ...if anyone has any public e-mail (or snail mail) addresses for any of the main players in the Ramsey case, I'd appreciate your sending those on to me for compilation. Please, only public officials and agencies, and no private e-mail addresses. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ EMAIL Dunvegan ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 8. "Ramsey Case Expenses Update" Posted by JR on 23:36:04 8/06/2001 Guess someone forgot to turn in their expense report. They have now spent a little over $700 for the year...sigh. http://www.ci.boulder.co.us/comm/pressrelease/RAMSEY/pr010501.html [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 9. "JR" Posted by Nedthan Johns on 11:35:26 8/07/2001 It's clear to see via that expenditure that only ONE person has worked this case this year. And what do you want to bet, this person isn't really doing much of anything? They are hanging this case up to dry. There will NEVER be a conviction in this case, I am absoultely convinced of this now. Very sad. The BPD has failed JonBenet Ramsey. I think they should add their photo under the dictionary word for INCOMPETENCE. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 11. "Dunvegan..." Posted by Voyager on 12:01:10 8/07/2001 I think your e-mail activism feature would be terrific! There is really so little we can do right now besides write a well placed letter now and again... This might be a way to do at least a little bit toward keep this case alive, and might go a long way toward relieving frustration on our forum due to "non-action" on the case front.... Thanks for thinking so positively and keeping us active with the case...that is really why we are here isn't it? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 12. "Darnay Hoffman and Linda Hoffman-Pugh..." Posted by Dunvegan on 21:26:52 8/07/2001 ...have, in pursuing legal redress regarding the Ramsey murder case, made an enormous impact on the law of Colorado with their suit challenging the unconstitutionality of the Colorado Grand Jury laws. There are larger issues at stake here, as Darnay has clearly shown us...and he has shown us that these issues can be impacted enormously. We can, as Darnay has clearly illustrated, via tenacious and dedicated action, have an strong influence on the collateral topics the Ramsey murder case has widened to include: free speech, victim's rights, civil liberties, whistleblowing and exposure of public malfeasance, etc. That is what I hope the online e-mail resource I am working on could help facilitate for those who may be interested. I believe that silence is certain defeat. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." --- Edmund Burke (1729-1797), Irish philosopher, statesman. Attributed.
