"Justice Watch Registration: 08/13/2001 - 6P PST" Posted by Dunvegan on 20:47:44 8/12/2001 New registration for Justice Watch membership will be opened at 6 p.m. PST, Monday, August 13th, 2001. I hope that by re-opening registration at Justice Watch that we will have a broader and more diverse membership base, a more productive and varied discourse, and continue building Justice Watch in its reputation as a well-respected resource for responsible constructive involvement in justice-related issues. On Thursday, August 9th, I received a thinly-veiled threat of possible legal action against Justice Watch. Rather than ignore this intimidation tactic, I have chosen to consult legal counsel in this matter. Due to the advice I have so far received, I will require all new registrants to acknowledge an Acceptable Use Policy, prior to activating new accounts. By agreeing to the Acceptable Use Policy the membership will give this forum some immediate protections, which are prudent at this juncture. I will also, unfortunately, require all currently registered members of Justice Watch to reply affirmatively to this policy. In short, the policy is simply designed to assign acknowledgement to copyright laws, and to agree to remain within acceptable legal boundaries of conduct on this board. Not unlike the disclaimers you are asked to click on at some corporate or media-sponsored discussion boards. I'll be firing up the mail-bot tomorrow around noon-time, and e-mailing all of you the Acceptable Use Policy. Please read it in full, and return it to me with your acknowledgement. I will also post it on all of the forums at Justice Watch, and you may also copy the policy from here and mail it to me directly with your acknowledgment. Seeking justice for victims is an enormous responsibility, and make no mistake, that is the thing that originally brought each and every one of us here. The eyes of many look to us for our considerable reserves of information, our critical thinking skills, and especially for our unique analysis. Political figures. Governmental entities. Law enforcement personnel. Media representatives. Invested parties. Or, even the frustrated neophyte who happens upon us here, seeking answers or assistance. I know that all of you have always invested Justice Watch with your humor, your insight, and your wisdom. I hope that it will remain a worthwhile and profitable investment for each and every one of you. With thanks, Dunvegan [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. We will continue with our plight for justice for JonBenet and victim advocacy. I'm glad you got that "veiled" threat. It just makes us stronger. They just keep digging themselves in deeper and deeper don't they. Wonder why???? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 4. "Thank You, O Fearless Leader!" "Existing Members: No Re-registration Required" Posted by Dunvegan on 12:08:34 8/13/2001 Just to clarify: if you are a current Justice Watch member, you will not have to re-register. However, I will be sending you an Acceptable User Policy that I require you to read, and acknowledge in the affirmative to automatically renew your account. If I receive this form back from you, with your agreement to abide by the terms of acceptable usage, there will be nothing further required, and your account status remains the same: active. Some users have inquired about changing their "hat" during open registration. If you'd like to change your username, please send me an e-mail. That way we can make the change so that you will can have the new "hat", continue your active account status seemlessly, and yet remain identifiable to the community at-large. If you wish to change "hats", I'd like you to understand that an announcement will be made that goes along with your identity change and posted to the Daily Thread to avoid confusion. I think that's it. E-mail me if you have any questions. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. "Awaiting my "Acceptable User Policy"." It's good to get everything out in the open and the air cleared once in a while. Seems this is the day for it. I hope the email addy I used for the poll was the one I registered under the last time. If not, email me there, that's my ISP now, if that's OK. It's nice to be back among fellow seekers of justice for JonBenet, wherever that leads us. I highlighted everything, then went to edit and clicked on copy. Then in email I pasted to body of email? Is that the right way? Heck...have only owned a computer for 4 years. Was completely computer illiterate! Tell me I did right. then I'll know i'm coming out of the fog! [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 12.
