"I'm glad someone cared enough to send in a new tip?" Or whatevertheheck it said. Well, we know who that someone was and what that tip was - underdrawers, hahaha. I think these ads are sickening. Is that what you asked? I think they are absolutely tasteless - why use JBR that way? If they have to do this, why not speak adult language, not put words in a dead little girls mouth. Say, this would have been JonBenet's first day of school is whatever grade. Oh, and BTW, it almost five years since JB was murdered in her own home with only her parents and brother in residence. If this guy is so dangerous, where's he been for the past five years? Who has he murdered? Sexually assaulted? Creepy crawled through the house to snatch another little girl and leave her in the basement of her parents' home? What do I think? This just fries my buttinski. Why don't Beckner & Keenan get off their asses and shut these people up once & for all? Every time they have a fake burglary or stupid ass ads like this pop up, it is an insult to our intelligence. "Ad" Posted by doScubie on 09:50:39 9/05/2001 Puke! The last paragraph tells it all. Usually the opposite of what's written, tells the real truth. The ad states "until he's caught" --> means it's a "she". The comment about people being in danger --> No One is in danger, except those who live with Patsy, IMO. : ) Thanks for the picture. There they go with the drama again. There is no "danger" to anyone and anyone with half a brain should be able to see that. Does "everyone" mean the killa has branched out to include little boys, old women, grown men? Will he be bashing, molesting, kidnapping, note-writing, strangling? A combination or these or perhaps something new? I don't think this ad will strike fear in the hearts of Boulderites. Maybe sorrow for a dead little girl and a thought or two about their police department and prosecutor and the Ramsey's themselves. But tips? No. There are no tips, just two guilty, lying, hiding parents. Oh, yeah and one code sixer. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 7. "I am " Posted by Tricia on 09:58:54 9/05/2001 sick to my stomach. Patsy believes her delusion that some wild eyed intruder killed JonBenet. I am sure by this time she has convinced herself of it. Although the Ramsey can claim other people have put together this ad we all know it has their sickening sweet crapola all over it. So were is this wild eyed pedophile who crawls into homes, sexually assaults kids, leaves them in the basement with a rope around their necks, leaves beaver fur from the mom's boots on the tape stuck to the kids mouths, writes a note using the pen and paper from the victims house and is able to match the mom's writing style? "disgusting propaganda" Posted by austingirl on 10:11:34 9/05/2001 Was it Stalin who said "repeat any lie loud enough and often enough and people will start to believe it"? Well, we know the Ramseys have probably convinced themselves that they did not commit this crime. It is possible, over time, through denial and blocking, to rewrite reality, which I believe they've done. Now, they are out to convince the world. I think that is what accounts for the bizarre time lag here. Wouldn't these ads have been more appropriate four and half years ago? Who in the world believes this slavering pedophile/ransom kidnapper/small foreign faction member/John Ramsey enemy/danger to everyone is out there now, after no activity for over four and half years? I showed this "ad" to several people at work and all said it was quite ridiculous. I'd like to know how much money the Ramseys have after all of those "undisclosed settlements," and why a good portion of that isn't going into a real reward, real investigations (not internet sleuths who collect soiled undies), an independent and state monitored exhumation, and on and on. Everyone knows that, so their mention of it in the ad, means nothing. It just reinforces the proof that they will stop at nothing (and I do mean nothing) to keep pointing fingers at anything but the truth. Man, I can't believe anyone would actually print this. "a question or two" Posted by fly on 11:06:29 9/05/2001 So I guess all of you think the Ramseys should just do nothing? Seems like I've seen them loudly criticized for that, and for going about some semblance of a normal life. What do you realistically think they should be doing? Is it the actual content of the ad that has some of you so riled up, or just the fact that any ad asking for the public's help has been released? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 16. "realistically" Posted by vic on 11:22:27 9/05/2001 NOTE: This message was last edited 11:22:27, 9/05/2001 They should be now and always, be working with the police. They should be realistically working towards helping the people they have claimed to want to help, children. Their "foundation" doesn't really fit that bill. Realistically, they should just shut up about themselves and how poorly they've been treated and focus on their dead child. The content of the ad is tacky but had that ad been placed 4 years ago, along with real cooperation, I don't think anyone would have had a problem with it. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 18. "working with the police" Posted by fly on 11:36:33 9/05/2001 What would you have them do to help the police? They have already been questioned at length. Their investigators supposedly are giving the police leads they obtain. No question, they should have gone in to talk to the police much, much quicker than they did, but that is beside the point now. What would they have to add now? Are the police really so eager to get them back in for further questioning? They get trashed for giving the police the names of people that might warrant investigation. They get trashed for running ads that might get the public thinking about the crime (afterall, the BPD doesn't exactly have it on a front burner, and there's essentially no coverage in the media any more). They get trashed for doing nothing. They basically get trashed for anything and everything they do (and do not do). The ads are tacky, no doubt. But I just don't see much justification for the kind of reactions some people are posting here. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 17. The above was written about the August 6th ad... I can't help but believe the same applies to the second ad. I'm interested in the heart with her signature. Posted by Ayeka on 12:07:41 9/05/2001 If that's been discussed before I must have missed it. How is it that this person owns the copyright on a photo of JonBenet? I think what bothers me most about this ad is the first person voice and the fact that the text basically makes it sound like JonBenet's accusing The World of not doing enough to send in tips. I rather take offense someone putting words like that in a murder victim's -- child's -- mouth. I know it's a matter of interpreting facts but I don't believe that the Ramseys spent as much time with the police as they should have, soon enough. And the later q&a sessions were moderated beyond belief. (It's just my opinion and of course it colours my take on these ads.) "hey fly" Posted by Texan on 12:48:47 9/05/2001 How about if they offered to be questioned without playing "let's make a deal"? How about if they answered all the questions. Seems to me that last time they claimed to cooperate things broke down because they didn't want to answer certain questions. I don't think people would be so against them if they would have agreed to a polygraph given by the FBI. If they were truly innocent I don't think they would be worried that the FBI would be unfair to them. They have no reason to be. If they really want the police to move past their suspicions: 1. Have an interview with the police, no negotiating who gets to do the questioning, no bargaining for a peek at transcripts and evidence, have the interview at the police station and most of all answer the questions that are asked. 2.Take an FBI sponsored polygraph, without bargaining. 3.Set up a realistic reward fund. I have very little money or assets and could probably come up with a better reward than these wealthy people. 4. Do some real good with their foundation. 5.Stop appearing so self-centered with each appearance they make. They are only hurting themselves because of their attitude. Maybe they should stay off the T.V. I think these suggestions are within their ability to accomplish and might cause a change in public attitude. Of course you are right in that it is already a little too late to do some things they should have done sooner but it's not too late to start focusing on what happened to their daughter rather than focusing on the effect of what happened to her has had on their lives. Posted by Diwi on 13:46:18 9/05/2001 This "ad" is typical of how (I believe) the Rams and their supporters (both legal and otherwise), seem to take the public for fools. We know that they have settled several lawsuits for undisclosed funds, and yet, take a look at their lifestyle and a look at the "reward amount" at: http://www.ramseyfamily.com How long has that $100K amount remained unchanged? I think that's rather outrageous. And the website itself has very little information on it, and no real "new" information, no real links, no nothing. Click on "Profile" and you get five short items of who the killer(s) "may" be (now changed in the ad I noticed to "he"). "May" be to whom? Click on the stungun pix in the "Evidence" section and you get two LOUSY pictures, and NO information. Finally, click on the "Contact" link and you get this aged doublespeak about the "authorities" not doing anything, and SO "her family" is taking it all in their own hands with this website. But the website is a joke, no? Who's running this thing? Hell, how easy is it to update a web site? And how can you settle several multi-million suits and not put a penny of those undisclosed amounts into the "official" reward amount? And what about this new ad? Why in the world do you place words into the mouth of a dead child as it does, first-person? Totally tasteless. The second paragraph especially, which is an obvious reference to Jameson. So, what's Jon Benet saying here (from the beyond?), that she's "glad" that someone "cared" enough to dig up old undies from a disgruntled ex-girlfriend of a possible suspect and send it off to the BPD? Possibly violating the person's constitutional rights in the process. And what does that imply, that critics of Jams and her supporters and their methodologies somehow do NOT "care" about Jon Benet? If they wanted to run a non-tasteless ad, and gain public sympathy and support, I could think of a dozen or so OTHER ways than this. All this does is continue to make the Ramseys look totally out of it and clueless about how they are perceived and only gives their harshest critics a lot more ammo to work with. It's a highly deceptive ad just because of the picture next to the first person text alone. Jon Benet is dead. She did NOT write that. There is no way anyone can think that THIS is what she might say or think at this point. How crude. It's almost as if the child herself has just become a "concept" or "symbol" now for the Ram's, Jam's, and their supporter's agenda. Hell, the link couldn't even be placed on an ad-free site, but one on Geocities with pop ups for arcade games and beany babies. Sheesh. The little heart and "JBR font" at the end ices this tasteless cake. I wonder if Jon Benet could REALLY say something, what SHE would say at the bottom of this ad, maybe something like, "Believe me folks, I had NOTHING to do with this silly ad!" What a circus...and I have a feeling we ain't seen nothing yet. End of mini-rant. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ EMAIL Diwi ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 34. Yes she was 'tested' writting with both hands but not with the examiners having the knowledge she COULD write with both hands. That would affect the interpretation. That switch hitting fact was discovered earlier this year. This makes all the previous conclusions invalid. Printing is far less revealing than script which is why there was no obvious author to pin it on. Those specialists should be referred to again now that we have this new signature which looks penned by the same hand and the additional factor that Patsy is known to be ambidextrious. And Mini, psychologically many believe Patsy needs to and wants to confess. That's why she always shows up on TV with an elaborate neck accessory.
