"Open Letter to Chris Wheeler - Domain Not Transfered" Posted by Dunvegan on 18:00:59 9/25/2001 NOTE: This message was last edited 18:00:59, 9/25/2001 Chris: Why are you continuing to renege, stall and basically block the process by which transfer of the domain name "justicewatch.com" can be transferred to me? This has taken an extraordinarily long time since I spoke with last at your home on August 4th of this year. As you know, your notarized signature is required from Network Solutions for the transfer to me to take place. I have been waiting since my visit to Michigan in August for you to send this requisite paperwork to me so that I can finish the transfer process. You have made no fair attempt to follow through on this agreement. Both David and I have e-mailed and called you personally numerous times. Chris, we have received no answer from you to date. My question is this, when exactly are you sending out the requisite paperwork, as you said you would? Although you do have not answered any of my e-mails sent since August 4th, your husband, in a very brief e-mail, let David and I know that he had himself finally gotten the papers notarized. This was in his e-mail of August 8th. We responded to him to please send it to our home address. We requested that you FedEx this notarized form, if you could. It is now September 25th. David has asked your husband half a dozen times now, by phone and e-mail, to forward the paperwork via mail or FedEx to us. We are still waiting. My request is this: FedEx the notarized form today. You have our address. And, both you and your husband promised face-to-face, and promised in e-mail, and promised originally to me that you would sign and notorize this paperwork...and I would do the rest. As you know, David and I have paid, as required by Network Solutions, the $70 to re-up the registration of justicewatch.com domain, as the first step that is necessary for a transfer of a domain site to change hands, Domains must be in fullly-paid status before they will start the transfer process. As of August 3rd, 2001 www.justicewatch.com would have been unpaid and returned to the Network Solution's pool for anyone to purchase. So, I paid that bill with my credit card, and retain the receipt for that payment. To this day, you and your husband's name still appear at NS as owners, as paid by David and I, with the last expiry date of August 3rd, 2001 paid and covered by my credit card just before David and I left California to meet with you in Michigan. I paid a bill that extends the ownership of justicewatch.com...that keeps the ownership of the domain in your name...fully promised by you that you would help me get the transfer done...and yet, you cling to ownership of the domain that I have paid for. Chris, are you are soliciting my payment of your Network Solutions' bills, under false pretenses of turning www.justicewatch.com over to me, as you personally...face to face...promised me? Obviously Chris, you have stated your complete contempt of, and disassociation from, this board. It only makes sense, then, for you to complete the transfer of the domain name out of you and your husband's name at Network Solutions, and pass it over to me. I stand by, with NS check in hand, for the immediate 48-hour transfer of the domain name from you to me, as soon as I receive your notorized authorization letter. Otherwise, my money is paying your bills, and you are also breaking your face-to-face word to me. Please forward an answer. It makes administration of this board extremely difficult, and nearly impossible to move away from the current hosting company...it even makes it impossible to pay the insignificant fee of $29.95 a month they require to host the site. If I cannot pay that bill, the site will be closed, as you must very well know. I require an answer as soon as possible. The $29.95 monthly rate is due. Only the owner can pay that bill. That remains, you. This is a situation of interest to all of the members of this board. If I cannot pay the bill, CWI Hosting closes this site. That is a situation I have no control over...and want the members of Justice Watch to understand that before it happens. I shall also never charge any membership fee or ever ask for donations for a monthly forum that costs less than $30. The membership can also count on that from me. I am waiting for an answer, Chris. "Dunvegan" Posted by zapata on 16:53:05 9/25/2001 Are you saying that the monthly administration fee for this board is only $29.95? I guess a lot of us were lead to believe that the fee was much larger than that. Dunvegan, we are listening and watching. Also, Jameson needs to move to a new service so her members would not be charged for the higher rate they are paying. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 2. Maybe, at the worst, a couple of hundred...and can often be re-negotiated with the hosting company. I know. I worked for a hosting company in Silicon Valley. The hosting company for this site is http://cwihosting.com/services.htm Look at the "Linux Power Domain Plan." You are invited to take a look for yourselves. Edited to clarify: the URL above is the hosting company for Justice Watch, not my former company, which was Logictier. We hosted companies like Sony Digital, and sponsored the 2002 Winter Olympics in SLC...until the dot.comets flamed out, and got caught in the dollar exodus. I finally got my money back from him. He never intended to furnish the motorcycles. I had to threaten to file criminal charges against him. Chris promised to work with me to make the transfer happen before all the fighting. And if she now despises this place so much, why doesn't she just throw the ownership at me, post haste? And, yes...the big question: where did all those donations to Justice Watch go to? Is that or is that not a fair question? I still have my cancelled checks from donations to Justice Watch. I'd personally like to know. Chris lives on acres of land, and in a huge and beautifully furnished home. Both she and her husband work. What was done with that money? Improvements to this board? Kindly point me to them, then.... Is that a wrong question to ask at this point? Edited to say: It's called ACCOUNTABILITY. That is why when people began to say where to send me money, I declined the offers. If I were to accept money, in any form, I'd set it up as a non-profit. Full public records and accountability. But, like I said...all that paperwork gives me a migraine...I'd rather just keep Justice Watch a place for justice, news, and investigation. A small price that I'm happy to pay. I always wondered to myself why others posters would start threads stating that it cost a fortune for Chris to maintain this site and that donations should be forwarded to her. The reason why I did not question it openly was because I knew I would have about a dozen queens jumping down my throat and I would probally be banned for good. I would forget until some poster would begin another thread asking us to contribute. So I did. I'm insensed that what I sent was always more than the monthly fee as I just learned from Dun. I understood that this forum cost several thousand to run. I wasn't sure if that was monthly or yearly but I wanted to do my part because I wanted JW to survive. I too never received any acknowledgement from Chris of my checks. EVER. Yes, I too wish for some acountability from Chris. She needs to explain herself if not to us then to Dunvegan and quickly. Posted by Mandarin on 18:13:13 9/25/2001 I had absolutely no idea what was happening with you and Chris. Are we talking about the same Chris that ran JW? You know, although I had tremendous respect for Chris, I often wondered why she let the NK rant go on and on for oh so bloody long. There were sooooo many posters soliciting this, that and the other thing that I became very skeptical and as a result NEVER sent a dime to anyone and my hub can tell you I'm generous to a fault ... it's a weakness I have. So glad I never fell for any of the wolves in sheep's clothing. Dun, may I say that your efforts go far beyond what any of us would expect and I am truly shocked with Chris' shabby treatment of you. It makes me rethink every opinion I had of her ... of course, if this is all true, which BTW truly raises a lot of little red flags for me. Is Chris behind all this? Is this what all the infighting is about? Are there others here on the board that are working to plunge it into oblivion. Keep up the good fight Dun. I'm Irish and there's an old saying you might like to use on those that attack you, e.g. "Irish Diplomacy" - the ability to tell someone to go to hell where they actually look forward to the trip. Sorry to hear about your husband ... but my guess is that when one door closes, another one opens and in his case it will most likely be a better one. I have sent Chris over 300 dollars in the past two years based on what has been presented on this forum before Dunvegan took over. I defended Chris when people accused her of trying to make money. I even went so far as to tell Chris in an email and on JW that if she had money left over good for her. She should take a vacation because of all the hard work she did keeping the forum going. I said these things based on the fact that I was told this forum cost a lot of money per month. I even started a donation thread. Then Chris had all those "support Justice Watch" links to Amazon. Chris had a paypal account. I praised Chris for her dedication and personal expense of running this forum. I am the biggest sucker of all time. I am sick. I am numb. I have been had big time. THIS IS FLAT OUT FRAUD. I hope somebody has something where Chris talked about how much it cost to run this thing. I have one other thing to add. When Dunvegan took over I kept asking her "where do I send my donation". Dunvegan kept refusing my money. Wouldn't let me send her a dime. I thought " Hey Dun is rich she is doing this all out of pocket". I was wrong. Duvegan is not rich. Dunvegan is honest. Not a con artist like Chris. "Chris didn't comitt fraud" Posted by Seeker on 19:45:44 9/25/2001 NOTE: This message was last edited 19:45:44, 9/25/2001 Chris never made anyone pay to post. She simply asked for donations to help run the forum. However, she did say that she was going to post the information "monthly" so that everyone could see where their donations went and yadda, yadda, yadda. She never did. Now to expect her to account for the money you all WILLINGLY gave to support the forum is unfair and it's almost as bad as what was done to Paralegal. Which brings me to this: Paralegal's plight was real and there are some here who are outright lying to further their own agenda's. Out of concern for someone needing help and assistance I started a thread last November saying "One of Our Poster's Needs Immediate Assistance". I also said in that post, to Chris, "Chris, I hope this is OK" and that if Chris didn't think it appropriate to please delete it. Para knew nothing about it until I told her much later. She did not bring her plight to the forum and would never have asked for herself. She was desperate enough to tell me she'd do whatever work needed to be done around my place for a roof over their heads. She NEVER asked me, or ANYONE ELSE HERE for any money (I asked for her). My sister, neice and her two toddlers were coming to live with me at that time as well. They had also lost their "home" just in time for the holidays, so I had no room for 3 more. I got a little money together and went and got a money order to send to her. I told her, as did others, that she needn't bother worrying about paying me back. I didn't have much to send, but I sent what I could. It made me feel good to be able to help someone, especially at that time of year. The documentation concerning her eviction and the notice are real too. I've seen them. Para offered to let Chris see them, Pedro see them, BL see them, and anyone else who wanted to verify that her plight was real. They all declined, but then several months later decided she'd been lying to the forum and using posters to get money. As for what Ginja posted in the WOR. There was never any "tip from the sheriff's office" (she makes it sound like they personally sought her out and contacted her about this) concerning Paralegal. There was an eviction notice in place. That is all. Para told me via e-mail how wonderful, kind, considerate and compassionate Brightlight was to her, her son and her (then son's girlfriend) daughter-in-law when they were in need. Para didn't say her son was only 19, I said, "her son and his 19 year old girlfriend" in one of my posts. Para has never said a bad word about BL due to the kindness she received from her. Even now when BL brings it up again, she has nothing but kind words to say for a person who helped her. Then Chris banned Para from the forum. No notice, no explination, nothing. But just before she did BL made a cryptic comment on the 4th thread of "rumors" (the first that was initiated by mame in another attempt to slander FW) and I was unfairly attacked because I wanted to help someone who was in need. Several e-mails were sent around by certain individuals saying that Para and I had scammed the forum (which is a total and a malicious lie). Para started a thread before she was unfairly tried, judged, and sentanced to being banned, thanking every poster who helped her out AND said that if it hadn't been for her brother-in-law sending the bulk of funds, they wouldn't have made it. Now I wonder why Chris really banned her? Edited to take out the last 2 questions, they were in poor taste and unfair to Chris. "Mandarin" Posted by Real Stormy on 20:17:51 9/25/2001 For reasons known well to many, the MW episode was an apparent plot to advance the careers and agendas of some. I opposed Mame. Mame called me a "baby raper henchman." I was banned. Mame was not. A couple of other people were banned with no explanation and no notice. Just poof. Gone. As far as I can tell, Mame and Chris decided whom to ban. It was always those who questioned Mame's MW story. A group of MW "advocates" who call themselves "Queens" (for reasons I don't understand since they are far from royalty) have decided to take JW down. Several of us oppose them and the list is now growing as it becomes clear that the entire thing is a scam. Chris, Brady and some other JW posters are among the group calling themselves "Queens." The first salvo was fired by one of the head "Queens," Denver. Morgon, before she was removed from the forum, was a provocateur sent here by the "Queens." You might have read the unspeakably obscene post Morgan made about Dun which was brought here and is in the WOR. The entire thing sounds incredibly juvenile and it would be if not for the fact that they are doing a disservice to genuinely abused women and are trying to eliminate JW from the 'net. They are trying to settle old scores. They are ruthless in their quest. It also appears that the threat of a lawsuit was made against JW prior to Dun becoming the webmaster. I'm sure you have read Dun's post to Chris about transferring ownership in which she says she (Dun) was not made aware of that threat. And now Chris seems to be avoiding the transfer of ownership, apparently not realizing that as owner still, she would be vulnerable to any lawsuits after Dun took over as well as the one threatened prior to that. It is a complicated, complex story. At the beginning, I suspected that Dun was part of the power grab since I am well aware of how they operate. I was wrong. I see now that Dun was a victim of this group, but she has a great deal of integrity and intelligence and I believe she will prevail. I will do what I can to help her. I hope others do as well. I don't want to see the forum sink, but with all the Pedro crap posted today, then the swipe at Chris' lifestyle, I felt a little like striking myself. Good luck but I have a bad feeling about how this is going to turn out. Jameson must be rubbing her talons toether in abdolute glee. But hey, at least the focus is off her for a while. I know Chris at one time posted that she needed money to run the fourm. It was said at the time when it gets too heavy it can cost a ton per month. That is why I donated. Chris accepted all donations under the pretense that it cost a lot to run the forum. 30 dollars a month is not a ton of money. I think this is fraud plain and simple. let's say someone came on and posted 'Hey it costs Chris 700 dollars a month to run the forum please donate now". Chris did NOTHING to correct the impression that it cost a lot of money to run this place. Doesn't matter if she said it or not. Chris let JW be used as a way for her to take money for the running of the fourm. Dunvegan asks a fair question.Where did all that money go? It did not go to the running of the forum. When I told Chris I hope she takes a vacation with any extra I did so with the understanding that this forum was expensive and difficult. Difficult yes, expensive no. Now the problem is finding the posts where Chris talks about the forum. I know someone has the post where Chris talks about the accounting of the money. Let's put it another way. Would any of you given Chris money if you had known the forum only cost 30 bucks a month? Of course not. That is the fraud. The impression of expense. Hell I even started a donation thread because I thought Chris needed the money to keep things running. Speaking of running I seem to be running off at the mouth here. Sorry I still so pissed off. It's the impression of money being needed. The impression money donated was going to the forum. That is fraudulent. IRS. I be the IRS never heard of these donations. By the way Dun I think the description of Chris' living conditions were very appropriate. It goes to the fraud issue. Tricia ps seeker I did donate to Paralegal and never had a probem with it. Still don't. I quite like her. I hope she is doing well. Tell her I said hello. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 70. She never said how much more, or how much the bill was each month for the additional traffic, but she did say she was going to publish something on the funds or account monthly. I never saw anything posted, but I'm pretty sure she said that. She never asked for a specific amount from anyone either. As far as I'm concerned she didn't defraud anyone. She wasn't as forthcoming as she said she'd be, but I don't know her or demand and accounting either. She never told me I had to donate, and I didn't. "My 2 cents" Posted by JR on 22:07:30 9/25/2001 I contributed to Joshua-7 and felt it only fair to contribute to JW as well. I don't begrudge contributing because I do enjoy the forum. However, I too believed it cost a lot of money to run the forum. If Chris actually made money from JW, in my opinion she should contribute all the profit (beyond the cost of forum fees and additional funds for bandwidth) to Steve's defense fund. Tricia is right, Chris did nothing to correct the impression that it cost a lot of money to run JW. Mini - I requested that Ellique pay his lost bet to Chris. The bet was for $5.00 not $50.00 but Ellique upped it to $50.00. Mandarin - I too have wondered why the rant was allowed to continue when so many posters let it be known that they disagreed with the bashing of FW. Gem - I did post a thread saying it would be nice to get Dun off to a good start but I was under the impression the forum was expensive to run. Dun immediately said no funds were needed which I found odd at the time but thought maybe this was Dun's contribution to justice. I do wonder why Dun had to rush to pay the $70 to re-up the registration of justicewatch.com domain in August when so many were helping to finance the forum. To be fair to Chris, I will say that she acknowledged my contributions via email as did Dan. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 86. We're also going to enforce a shareware concept. If you use the forum and like the forum you will be asked to contribute. Whether it's $1 or $1000 dollars (hey, a girl can dream). People with financial difficulties will not be penalized! Nor will "legitimate lurkers" (incl. members of the media, Boulder officials, etc.) I'll regularly post (probably monthly) a running balance (this will include no information about posters) for members of our current financial status, costs, etc. That will include membership numbers and other details. Members who do not contribute or contact me directly will lose their access. "Members who do not contribute or contact me directly will lose their access". I will pose this question once again. Would you have sent Chris money if she told you it cost 30 bucks a month to run? Gemini I started one thread asking for donations for Chris. Chris had stated when more people use the forum the more it costs. The case was heating up (that's how long ago it was) so I thought I would be nice and help Chris by starting a donation thread. Look I am going to drop this for the moment. I have a few things to look into and when I find out more I promise I will post everything. I'll admit one other thing. This may be such a grey area that Chris might be able to avoid fraud charges. I think it is a close call legally that is. Morally? To let people think it cost a ton of money for this forum?
