"News?" Posted by Jerrya on 08:40:27 9/28/2000 Just read this on MSNBC. "BECAUSE POLICE HAVE failed in their efforts to get an indictment for [JonBenet's] death, I feel it is now time for me to come forward and tell my story," writes Linda Hoffmann-Pugh, who worked for the Ramseys for the two years until JonBenet's death. "The person responsible for her death should not walk free." Hoffmann-Pugh is proposing to write "Death of an Innocent" with Adrian Havill, author of "The Mother, The Son, and The Socialite" the sizzling book about convicted killers Sante and Kenneth Kimes, which CBS is turning into a TV movie. "Linda Hoffmann-Pugh has some fascinating facts that haven't come out," says the source, who also spoke with the former Ramsey employee, "including where the rope that was used to tie up JonBenet came from." The source says Hoffmann-Pugh's info casts further suspicion on John and Patsy Ramsey; what's more, her portraits of the couple are none too flattering. In the proposal, Hoffmann-Pugh writes that Patsy Ramsey was "one of the most neurotic people I have ever met." She claims that Patsy confessed to her that she didn't enjoy sex and asked for advice on how to perform a certain sexual act. According to Hoffmann-Pugh, Patsy Ramsey also believed that her ovarian cancer went into remission because of the life-saving spirit of John Ramsey's elder daughter, Elizabeth, who was killed in a car crash when she was 22 in 1992. Of John Ramsey, Hoffmann-Pugh writes, "John may have been the coldest man I've ever met. He deserved his nickname of 'The Iceman' given to him by the employees." The Ramseys couldn't be reached for comment. [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 1. "Well if LHP" Posted by Holly on 08:44:12 9/28/2000 knows where the rope came from, how come the Ramseys aren't in jail? "Holly" Posted by janab on 09:00:48 9/28/2000 I can only guess, but if LHP is saying the rope came from, for example, the Ramseys' kitchen drawer, that is just one more thing on a long list of items that came from the Ramsey home, but it cannot be proven that THEY were the ones who used the items. Make sense? :^) janab [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 3. "I can't wait" Posted by momo on 09:23:36 9/28/2000 for LHP's book to come out. Who knew about their domesticity better than her. Juicy stuff! I wonder if the rope was behind a picture and she knew it. When does the book come out? I think they could use it. Heaven knows Patsy didn't pay her squat to clean. I just wouldn't give the authors of DOI any. OK, I'm shallow. It's something I can live with. "For sure" Posted by Sylvia on 09:29:48 9/28/2000 will buy it, will give insight in what kind of jerks the Rammers are. Did I already tell you this? LOL, CRS. I asked them how many DOI they had sold. They said none. They had them marked down to $14.95. They will be putting them on close-out table for 4 or 5 bunk in a couple of weeks. I won't buy one. Maybe if they mark them down to 50 cents. Scanned through a copy, though. More self-serving crap - makes you feel dirty just reading it. I'll buy Linda's book, but I wish she had spoken out more at first if she had something to say instead of being so blasted loyal. After what the Rams have done to her and her family, maybe it's her time for truth. We'll see. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 8. "Watching You.." Posted by Aurora on 10:23:40 9/28/2000 I agree with you that LHP was loyal to PR. I guess...in the beginning ...she was so stunned by everything that she...like us..didn't want to believe the parents could do such a thing. After all...PR...used to give her her old cast off stuff...like shoes...etc. PR also was known to confide in her. LHP's book will be a bombshell for those that don't believe the Ramsey's are capable of murdering their child. I believe she knows them very well after cleaning up after them and seeing them as they truly are in the home environment. So far as the rope possibly being in a kitchen drawer, for example, it's possible that "evidence" can be challenged, but in the final analysis it's the TOTALITY of the evidence that is important. And that's where a calculated, powerful closing argument is so important. You could argue that an intruder came unprepared and found the cord somewhere, and the pad, the pen, the paintbrush, the tape - but will a reasonably thinking juror buy that in light of all of the evidence? Maybe not. Maybe LHP can explain this exact cord, and if she can, MK needs to stay in PA. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 10. "Well, isn't the LH-P book title..." Posted by Dunvegan on 10:59:27 9/28/2000 ..."Death of an Innocent"...a stinging slap in the face and fitting inditement aimed at the Ramseys and their self-indulgent, self-serving, self-excusing book and title. If the Ramseys are innocent...there's nothing for them to fear from a Hoffman-Pugh "tell-all"...but, as they themselves admit in their book title, Ramsey innocence is a dead issue. Brava, LH-P! And, hurrah NYL! Never let the guily sleep easy...Keep the hell-hounds on their trail.... [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 9. "That cord always looked like" Posted by Cassandra on 10:57:21 9/28/2000 it came from a man's pajama pants to me. I would buy LHP's book in a New Yawk minute! Nobody knows someone like their employees. Especially the ones in their home. Cassie [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 11. "I hope LH-P tells us..." Posted by Dunvegan on 11:31:29 9/28/2000 NOTE: This message was last edited 11:31:29, 9/28/2000 ...about Patsy's sheet washing behaviour. Seems that the Pats was so lazy she left EVERYTHING for her housekeeper to do. So, what I want to know, is why was Patsy so amazingly attentive to JBR's sheets? Could it have been that JBR wasn't always soiling the sheets with urine, but there were other stains on those sheets that Patsy wanted no one else to see, not even Linda? Could it be that Patsy used the "bedwetting" excuse for her dutiful attention to washing the sheets every morning? I, for one, will buy a copy of Linda's book as soon as it leaves the presses.... Edited to say: a couple of other questions I'd like to shoehorn in while the book is still in galley proofs: 1.Was Patsy indeed in the habit of packing clothes in garbage bags for trips on the Beechcraft? 2.Did they usually not arm the house alarms? 3.Could JonBenet read...at least well enough to read the tags on the Christmas presents on 12/25/96? 4.Does Linda know anything more about the ID bracelet given to JBR for Christmas...was it really CAP who bought it? Did Patsy suggest this gift? 5.A full account of the Dec. 23rd party which featured the 911 call. 6.What were the questions put to her by the grand jury? 7.Describe the behaviour and emotional dynamics of the Ramseys that were apparent during December 1996? 8.Any info on the day-of-the-week panties. 9.Were unusual marks ever evident on JonBenet: e.g., grip bruses on her upper arms, marks on her neck? 10.Did Linda ever see the My Twinn doll? Or, did Patsy ever show Linda the catalogue and talk about the purchase? If so, did Patsy purchase matching doll and little girl outfits for JonBenet and the doll? Did Patsy purchase (or have made) matching mother/daughter/doll outfits? [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ]
