Do you suppose they knew San Antonio was being watched carefully so they decided to try Austin? "Goodnight and good morning" Posted by Tricia on 00:22:20 9/24/2001 JR you were very lucky to catch me up. I'm usually in bed by 9:00...ok that's a big fat lie:) You know I would, without hesitation, fly. I don't have the money but if I could I would go everywhere. I don't think you can get a toe nail clipper on a plane these days let alone another terrorist. I worry more about the water being tampered with. Things along those lines. Plus I worry about Israel. I shudder to think what those bastards could do next to Israel. Starry please know that Carl is in my prayers. As is Seashell:) Hang in there Dunvegan. We are behind you. "In Regards to this Weekend's Comments at JW" Posted by Dunvegan on 00:20:35 9/24/2001 I just returned home with my husband and his mother from a short vacation up the California coast. We need to get her on an 8:00 a.m. PST United flight back to Canada. We'll have to leave early enough for a 3-hour leeway in flight times, so we are all going to sleep now. I have been thinking of the forum events of the weekend, and shall post tomorrow about the trajectory and direction Justice Watch shall take going forward. Justice Watch will remain alive and vital. Indeed, it shall grow. However, there will be broad ranging changes instigated to insure and protect this environment. Tomorrow I shall post a message, concerning my leadership here, and my intent for the future of this forum. I will also explain that direction, and how I have come to my decisions, to all forum members...but only after David's mother is safely on her flight, and we've returned home. I am grateful that so many members have expressed support for me, but even far more apprecitive that members have expressed their continuing interest and support of this forum, even in the face of the many unfortunate disruptions and bad will presently disturbing this forum. The rest I will deal with tomorrow. Please keep in mind the real problems: 1.We do have a serious national emergency on our hands, a war where the US has been attacked on it's own soil. That is the main focus of the country at this moment. Please try to remember that division conquers all...and this war is the real life sacrifice towards unity we face today. 2.Justice Watch shall continue as a champion for the victimized. And, as it so follows, I shall not allow Justice Watch to be "victimized" 3.Issues regarding this forum will be addressed tomorrow. There will be changes, and there will be an immediate end to the dementia currently raging here 4.Major changes will be instituted here at Justice Watch. Justice Watch shall return to it's correct place in the world and pursue it's greatest value: that this is a place where we champion victims and seek justice for those who have been silenced and beyond speaking. Jutice watch shall continue reporting and discussing the the issues surrounding the Ramsey murder case. JonBenet Patrica Ramsey, and exacting justice from her murderers, will not be forgotton here. And, Justice Watch shall also support our war efforts. Justice Watch shall contibute to the community by providing news and other content and information regarding America's war effort. Justice Watch shll change, but without a doubt, Justice Watch shall remain. Have an ear ache now and everything loose has moved to my chest. It won't interfere with my plans on going to Vermont. Mr. starry called last night when he arrived there and said it is beautiful! I can't wait. Thanks for continued prayers for Carl, too. He had a complete cat scan on Friday so we should have some word today on the results. Seashell, you are in my thoughts and prayers, sweetheart. Sorry I was so cranky yesterday, but we have to remember that when Chris ran this forum, it was her living room that we were invited in. Without her JW would have been a 404 error page not found long ago. Now it is Dun's living room, in which we are guests. I just would like people to remember to conduct themselves as adults. oops, gotta get moving........have a good day! huggs, starry [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 6. Thanks, Dunvegan, for taking the time this morning to inform us of your plans for the forum. "g'mornin" Posted by driver on 07:51:26 9/24/2001 g'mornin Dunvegan and everyone. I look forward to brighter days. Just as we have been asked to get on with the living of our lives in an effort to return to normalcy after the attack on our country, I think that would be a good route to go at JW, too. We do not go forward blindly, for we know there are enemies amongst us who do not wish us well. As those who attacked our country, they seek to disrupt and destroy, to impose their will on us, in any way they can. They may tear us down for awhile, but eventually they will be smoked out of their holes, be seen in the light, and we will get them... the insipid, cloaked rats that favor scurrying around in the dark, looking for any crumb to gnaw on, spreading their dis-ease as they go. Rodents - ugly creatures, known for their nasty, mean, and cowardly actions. However, they are susceptible to being too bold, and that becomes their doom. Traps, exterminators, even Pied Pipers have been known to rid the village of the pests. And then the villagers get back to living their lives in peace. I'm thinking of you as the forum's Mayor Giuliani, calm, steady and in control. The services at Yankee Stadium were so moving, especially when Bette Mildler sang, "Wind beneath My Wings." People began to sob and you could see the raw grief etched on the widow's faces. Hard to watch. One of the kitties is expressing her "nutsies" in a different way this morning (usually chases tail). She slid across the dining room table, pushed all the mail to the floor, and is now tossing envelopes around. Ha! Maybe I'll toss her the checkbook and stamps. Well, hope everyone has a good Monday. Posted by LurkerXIV on 07:57:00 9/24/2001 Dunvegan, you have my support. It's a blessing to have intelligent, levelheaded leadership here. I will be a J-W'er for the duration. We need justice more than ever now, for our nation and our world. shee, we could revive the Old Broads Club, if you want to be in a clique. We used to have our initiations and meetings in the WOR. It was a lot of fun, with Allipat, Panico, and Ruthee, of fond remembrance. Sparky snuck in...she presented a false birth certificate, making her 20 years older than she is. That was just so she could be served Vodka gimlets. Jellyjaws, the services at Yankee Stadium were so moving. I went through a whole box of kleenex; but I'm not done crying yet. The enormity of the tragedy continues each day with the individual funerals and memorials. One parish in Basking Ridge, NJ, lost 12 members! Xavier High School lost 10 alumni. And the list goes on. I'm dreading the next issue of my Alumni mag...I know there must have been many St.John's grads. So many communities affected....forever. So great a loss....one whose magnitude I have not seen since 1941-1945, when those gold stars went up in the windows all over our Brooklyn neighborhood. "We really did have fun" Posted by Watching you on 08:38:26 9/24/2001 and no one got offended, because it was just fun. There was camaraderie then and a purpose. There have always been those who thrive on doing nothing but hopping from forum to forum, getting thrown off one, going to another, for the sole purpose of disruption, but for the most part, I think most here have had a pretty good relationship. It is disheartening to see some who were considered part of this camaraderie becoming so combative and destructive of late, but there isn't much we can do about it. I've chalked it up to human nature - live and let live, I only have to be concerned with the state of my own soul, can't force others to my way of thinking, nor would I wish to. I never got this "forum of record" stuff anyways. Like, what is it, some contest for recognition? Big egos is more like it. I have been very happy with the direction Dunvegan has been trying to lead this forum. It is arrogant beyond belief for someone at another forum to believe s/he is the Internet Goddess, the authority on how others should run their forums; especially considering the pathos one encounters at that particular forum. And, to inform Dun of a defamatory post at JW is the height of hypocrisy, when that is what their forum specializes in. Like, excuse me, I didn't know any of us had to answer to the likes of them. The best thing any of us can do is rise above it. We are not going to be defined by anyone else's screwed up view of the state of JW, or what they might wish the state of JW to be. Just like the terrorist attacks, we need to ignore the nasties and conduct ourselves as intelligent, compassionate and caring human beings we've always been. I've done that with my little dearies lots of times. Recently that isn't necessary, they've taught themselves to take baths. Seriously. I put a heavy glass bowl full of water in their cage. They climb in the bowl, get themselves soaking wet, then get out and lick themselves dry. Result...sweet smelling ratties. A clean girl rat smells like grapes and a boy is like corn chips. Hey e-mail me today if you have time...something that might interest you.... Yep WY, you would love a miniature Schnauzer (they also come in Giant, but I do not know about their personality or temprament)....around here we just think that if it is not a Schnauzer, it is not a REAL dog....although we often call ours "little people in dog suits"....they are so in tune with the family, and ours get sooo excited over company, it is hard to get them settled down...real people pups! Ours are named Leo (he was Mr. Voyager's BD present about four years ago, and it was August when he chose him).....I asked the breeder to bring the mom and puppies to our house, all six of them! And as a surprise, had them all playing out on our lawn when Mr. V. came home....just said, "Happy Birthday kiddo!" "Choose one!"....and he did....Leo especially loves Mr. V. and goes absolutely nutz in greeting him every evening when he comes home....it is like a party with Leo and Lilly every evening when he comes home, he has to get on the floor with the two of them for hugs and kisses for about five minutes! He loves it! But I digress...Sparky, you need one of these....why don't you and WY both get one and then you can brag and compare notes! Course yours would probably never be as smart and sweet as mine, but you could try! LOL.....I'm tell'in ya Sparks! You wouldn't have to worry about flying anymore. You could just climb aboard your elephant's back and lumber off into the sunset. How about that? I found the perfect pet. Is there a reward? I sure could use one. [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 35. Posted by LurkerXIV on 11:07:18 9/24/2001 ...sounds like the title of a children's Golden Book. I'm still recommending a pygmy goat. They are adorable. It could live out by the chickens...it would just need a small shelter. Goats follow you around like dogs...but you don't need a leash. Their droppings are little tiny pellets...and good for the lawn! But you have to keep them out of the garden....no small task for Sparks, since she has gardens everywhere. My Horoscope today is dismaying: The tension between today's Libra Sun and Capricorn Moon will create conflict between social desires and the rules of the status-conscious elite. I never know what day it is, much less the date, without looking, so... Census Girl, haha, I guess rats can be quite interesting, I just always liked those fat little guinea pigs. "Sparky" Posted by Thor on 12:57:21 9/24/2001 I had a parakeet once named Ferd that cussed like a sailor. He said "Ah, shit" and would sometimes just scream it out. The funny thing was, we didn't have to teach him that. He learned to talk before he learned those words and learned them from ME! Once he learned a few things, he picked the rest up on his own! Did y'all know Steve Thomas was deposed last week? According to swamp person, Petrocelli was not there, Diamond was. Apparently Petrocelli has mucho faith in Diamond. They certainly hope that the deposition is eventually released so the experts atzeswamp can critique how Steve answered under oath. Fleet White is, according to the same source, scheduled to be questioned next by Darnay Hoffman. And then, ta dum, Darney will get to question the king and queen of Atlanta, John and Patsy. All this for the Chris Wolf lawsuit. Again, the source states that discovery for the lawsuit against Steve Thomas will begin after the holidays, whatever that means. If it means after all the holidays, it seems discovery will not start until next year. Yes, Jams, the truth WILL be exposed, but it may not be to your liking. Hallo? Is anybody here? Parakeets are very easy to train. If you spend the time with them and just get one (preferably a baby), once they pick up a phrase or word, there's no stopping them. Just watch what you say. I am not very good at aliases (sp) so I tend to use my real name on most occassions. I was given my name because I was born during a winter storm in the North East of Scotland, where the winds blow over the north sea. The date was january 28th the 1st anniversary of my parents marriage. What a gift....lol they have never had a better one in all of there 45 years of marriage heehee. love, gail [ REMOVE ] [ ALERT ] [ EDIT ] [ REPLY ] [ REPLY WITH QUOTE ] [ TOP ] [ MAIN ] 47. "There is healing energy" Posted by Ally on 19:11:12 9/24/2001 NOTE: This message was last edited 19:11:12, 9/24/2001 on this thread. As though calling out, Come all you who are weary and heavy laden.. (or, you-all, if you're from the Southern region of the USofA). The day is coming when we will look back on our lives and realize that it is too late to get up and right a wrong, or make a call, or hug a friend. But that day isn't here.. yet. So the question is, when that day does come, what will you be wishing you had done? And what will you do now, to avoid that. No, I did not make this up. I paraphrased it from that great author, Anon, with whom we are all familiar. Now. Who the hell is Ruby?! I just gave her serious what-for on the Friday thread. Mels. Hi Mels! Where is Mels. Mels, what are you selling on eBay? I need some Barbie clothes. I am *so* *sick* of naked Barbies, and naked Barbie pool parties, and my daughter taking undressed Barbies everywhere. I know she has clothes for them somewhere. I've seen them. I have to go catch up on news and on threads and on, evidently, rants. -------------------------> Ally <------------------------- (yes. it's getting larger.)
